  1. #5, You can't imagine the tree work I got after people tried to save some money, but paid for their discount with pain. Then had to pay money for the fix, too.
Some real dumbassery and karmic activity going on in this group.

  3. #4 - First day on the job, eh?
#5 - Classic accident. And why lots of people pay somebody ELSE to trim or take down their trees.

  9. #3 - Back in the late 70s, a friend put his F-150(F-100?) in 4WD to cross a RR track & avoid a DUI. Didn't make it, so he went to get some friends in the bar to push. Train came through before "mission accomplished".

    1. I have some stories...
The best was a mortician, driving a hearse to pick up a body, in the wee hours of the morning. He made it 100 yards up skeletonized track before getting high centered on the switch into the industry spur. We came around the corner to find two headlights shining askew into the sky. Some one had told him it was a shortcut to where he wanted to go.

  10. Starker here,
10- "Some dumbass lost his trailer, & it looks like mine" I guess they don't use safety air brakes?
4- Why do they hire the challenged to wrangle carts?
3- now that engineer has to stop the train, walk a mile or so back, write a report & call for a tech & a new crew. And the line is hosed for the day.
    8&5 - don't trust ladders.
9 - Too much of a rush, and where does it get you? Upsidedown, very late, & no car nor money.
6- Puppy is too cute! With his wittle wegs.

  12. #5: Lowes sells pole saws for about a hundred bucks less than the co-pay at the E.R.

  13. My bud’s about to drop 20 racks to have multiple monster pines removed from his yard. Good ones aren’t cheap and cheap ones aren’t good.

  14. #5. Years ago I was hired to secure the electric lines so they could trim a tree that had a large branch extending near the electric service.
I looped a rope on the service and tied it back but the guy with the chainsaw was skeptical.
So I leaned my ladder against the branch and climbed up with a sawzall.
About halfway through, the branch mad a loud pop, so I stopped, climbed down and attempted to throw a rope over. It snagged on the rough bark. No problem, pull it back and try again but as soon as I tugged, the portion I'd cut dropped like it fell from a plane.
The tree trimmer looked like he was about to shit himself.
Had I cut another five seconds, it probably would have hit my ladder. I tied it to the branch before I started, and removed it before tossing the rope so I wouldn't have been knocked to the ground. The kerf of my cut hadn't begun to spread when that happened. The tree was a maple.

    4: Genius at work.
6: It's crazy to think about how mobile this one's gonna be in 2-3 weeks.
