How do you know it's a him? If it is a him, how do you know his destination is a slaughter house? Holstein is a milk cow. If a bull is born farmers sell them of right away to a feeder to be turned into veal. This is likely a heifer she is raising for a 4H or FFA project.
Steve - Yes they do. They're generally thinner than a bull's and usually removed when they're calves, but they can and do grow horns. I say this as somebody that lived in dairy country for years and did a lot of weekend work at dairies.
