That must've been some serious caterwauling

A solo camper belting out a plaintive tune was mistaken for someone in distress, prompting a full search and rescue response – including police and a drone team, in B.C.’s Okanagan last week.

The woods aren't as private as you'd think.
About 20 or 30 years ago I was on vacation and went to the mountains. I was on the east slope of the Sierras just wandering and found myself standing on the edge of a cliff. I hadn't seen a single solitary soul in 3-4 days and was standing there thinking, "I'm all alone. I can do anything I want" so I took a deep breath and yelled, "FUCK YOU!!!" as loud as I could.
A couple of seconds later, I heard from way off in the distance, "NOOO, FUCK YOU!!!"

  1. Lol, similair story hiking to a fishing spot in the ADKs. After several hours in-land, scrambling over a rock ledge off the path for half a mile, I finally came to the river! Glorious, unspoiled, nothing but sun and wind and nature...
"Heelllooooooooo!!" Said the two old bints in kayaks as I was tying on my mepps.... sigh.

    1. No, it's not updating for me either. Everything else seems to be updating okay, so I'm going to blame his server.

  3. Interesting story, but Jesus H. Christ I gotta know or I'll never get to sleep tonight: "What was the title of the song, what key was he singing it in and was he being acompanied by a karaoke machine"?

  5. Given that it occurred in BC, he could have been singing in Hindi, which sounds like someone being tortured.

  8. I was with my HS gf on the very secluded end of this beach in the sand dunes where we decided to discover the wonders of nature together until some guy walked over the top of the sand dune.

  9. The coolest, You're not alone, story I heard was two friends hiking high up in the Sierra. I mean, way back and far away from any trail.
There they are taking a break, sitting on a ledge, feet dangling in air.

Along comes two jet fighters. The jets obviously saw the hikers because they circled around for a 2nd pass, high alpha, just dragging past my friends. They waved then lit the burners and were gone.

  10. Someone a long time ago had built a low rock wall around a natural spring. It's not easy to find, no roads, a long hike in.

Me and two others are in the water when out of nowhere this old man with flowing white hair and deep brown leather skin, wearing nothing but a diaper walks up and says, You're sitting in my pool. Then, quicker than he appeared, he's gone.
This is north of the June Lake loop.

    1. Blame that on Southern California. Lots of people from SoCal hit the June Lake loop.

  13. Considering the forests in the Okanagan are still infested with Commie draft dodgers and ther grow-ops, I wonder if the Cops "rescued" this dude to keep their associates' interestes hidden.
