  1. number #3 is a good man and a kind soul.
as for number 10, yeah. I have seen my old dog Jack do that. hell, he used to do that in the damn kiddie pool I got for my kids ! just about any hot day in summer, if the pool was out and filled. Jack had his butt in there with them. never got a picture of it but I am going to save this one and smile when I look at it. Thanks, Kenny. dave in pa.

    1. I'm torn on #3, Yes, his gesture was good, as far as it went, but i don't think I'd leave a stray sleep on the street.

    2. That is my thought as well, especially as friendly and seeking a loving belly rub as that doggo was. We don't know the reason why he couldn't and I hope it was a real good one.

  3. RE: No. 1: Any other old-time Prepress guys do that with the film kleen and a buddy in the dark-room?

  5. Someone needs to thank that guy that covered up that small dog. Better yet he needs to send me that dog to me as there are friends waiting for him.

  8. #2 typical Great Dane. Have had them for years. Goofy fu65ers, right up until you need them to revert to their lion hunting genetics. Then amazingly fast and focused on the prey / perpetrator. We moved to custom built 18 x 36 in doggie door.

  9. #1 - Can someone explain why the flames travel in discrete waves instead of one continuous flame.

    1. Starker here,
I'm guessing it's kerosene. Liquid fuel doesn't burn. After he starts it, the flame heats up the fuel in front, vapors rise up and pull the flame forward. Etc..

    1. I just post them as I save them - the first 10 in my folder get posted every time. I just didn't realize how many dog gifs were in there.

    2. Any day with dogs is automatically ruled a good day. #3 does give one pause. Just remember that a lot of people are simply not able to take care of dogs. Just assume that the person left and notified the proper authority who then came and took care of the pup.
Oh, and never, never trust anyone who doesn't like dogs.
I hope you are feeling less stressed with your workload now, Wirecutter. I for one appreciate your continued efforts. Have a great rest of summer, and send my best to your lovely bride. May you both have good health for the rest of the year and far into the future.

    3. Pigpen, you're right. Don't trust people who don't like dogs. Also, people who mistreat serving people, and anyone who can't be bothered to put the super market cart back in the collection bin.

    4. I tell everyone that there are only 2 types of people. Those who return their carts where they belong and those who don't.
That pretty much covers their entire personality and mindset about life.

  11. I figure the dog in 3 was waiting for his guy but it was nice of the man to cover him up.

  12. about number 8. my wife pointed out the size difference between our Slim and the neighbor daughter Sky. she looked tiny next to Slim. yup, just like the big dog in that one. goofy, gentile as anything and rolling over on his back. Sky was up with her grandparents last month.
she is 6 now. and its been 2years and 5 months that Slim took his last walk. her Mom tells us it just not the same coming to grandpa's and there is no Slim here anymore for her to hang out with. then she shared a few pictures of the two of them playing in the yard with us that she took a few years ago . got really dusty about that time too. dave in pa.
