As a one time owner of a husky, I can tell you that you're going to pay for that. Really neat dogs, but they are unbelievably headstrong, and can hold a grudge when they feel they've been slighted. Despite that, mine was quite entertaining, even when she was being a shithead.
Years back a friend had 2, they were extreme diggers, escape artists and the most hardheaded dogs I've ever seen.... Sled dogs are definitely a different kinda dog. JD
Oh, yeah. Mine wasn't a digger. But she was able to jump a 5.5' fence when motivated, and was an expert at sneaking out any door that was open ever so briefly, so she could go take a run. You didn't bother to give chasse, as she'd run even further. She always came back on her own, because she knew where the food was. Was part pig too, as she loved to roll around in the muddiest part of the yard after a storm.
Find the Youtube channel for "Girl with the dogs" - Vanessa is a dog groomer out of Canada. She's got some "interesting" videos where she grooms huskies. Luna is particularly interesting. Oh .. turn down the speakers before you listen. You have been warned.
You're right. I don't bathe dogs unless they get into something really nasty like skunk spray or rolling in a gut pile. I've had that asshole dog Jack for 8 years and have never bathed him. TBH, I don't think he'd tolerate it.

ReplyDeleteI know I will get all sorts of feedback for saying this, but you shouldn't bathe a dog. At least not regularly. It's not good for their skin.
