Why o why do so many 3rd world countries have "DEATH ROADS" like this? In America, we get upset over seeing a pothole or speed humps. Is there really nothing these people can do? Seriously, get a bunch of you together and chip away at the cliff a bit more so that two cars can pass safely on a mountain road. Is building a safe mountain road really really so expensive that they cannot afford it?
Is building a safe mountain road really really so expensive that they cannot afford it? The short answer. Yes it is that expensive.
Most people in 3rd world country work their asses of to get a few $ and barely can afford enough to feed and cloth their families. They don't have the time, energy or disposition to chip in a wall to make the road any wider.
I don't know about the rest of the third world but when it comes to Africa, apparently zero African languages have a direct translation for the word "maintainence". The French built railroads all over the place in Africa and nobody ever thought to maintain them when the French left.
My parents tell me that up until I was about 3 that if I could get 1 knuckle-length of finger over an edge, then I could climb it. They found me on top of the fridge more than once, and even on the roof of the house. The kitchen counters were apparently nothing to me then.
The stuff looks so wispy in the air, you'd never think it would hit so hard on the ground. But it makes sense. They have to be able to blast through a thick forest canopy.
I was the recipient of a drop of that stuff. Fortunately, it was dispersed enough to not mess me up. Slippery to walk on and makes your eyes water due to the ammonia smell. The best drop I ever saw though was when the Division Chief parked in a bad spot and had the rear window of his vehicle blown out.
In 1980 a shopping center in Quebec was on fire. The fire department lost control so they called for a waterbomber. The pilot was in our hangar 20 years ago, telling war stories, and he told us he collapsed the roof with a couple of 'bomb' drops (12,000lbs of water all at once) to expose the flames. Here's a pic I found https://www.flickr.com/photos/tesseractphoto/4148034587/ Al_in_Ottawa
Twin steers are cool and its not dangerous as it looks if the ground is hard. The second steerer is the one that matters as its the highest loaded wheel on the truck. The rear axels will be well inside the turning arc.

#2 I've been thinking about something similar for years to haul mattresses. You need two that will clamp and lock. Then add a ring on the top each that you can thread a pipe or piece of lumber through so two people can carry it. I will be your first customer.
#2: I have a contraption like that for picking up car batteries!
#3: His indian name; Gecko Hands!
#7: Oh, yeah; NEVER be in the path of a boride bomber!
#8: I saw that happen to a guy in a Porsche 911 getting onto the 101 South. He gunned it on the on ramp and over corrected when he got into traffic. The rear wheels cut loose and the car started fishtailing all over the freeway. Luckily for him, pretty much everyone saw what was coming and backed off, giving him the whole arena to sort out his mistake. He hit NOTHING and just kept going like nothing happened. I'm sure he never got the shit smell out of that leather seat though...
#3 My kid, when about that age comes trotting around the corner with a cookie. Eyes fly wide open when it dawns on his mother and I that those cookies are on top of the frig.

Phos-Chek is 9 pounds per gallon; heavier than water.
