Anon, I don't think you know as much about evolution as you think you do. As wirecutter said, the same forces that formed and favored tribes 300,000 years ago still exist today, and always will.
One of the interesting things about evolution is the notion that the concept applies not just to the individual but to groups, and so we can think of tribalism evolving just as we did as a species. And humans and tribes evolved hand-in-glove.
The humans that were most likely to live and pass on their genes were those that benefitted from strength in numbers. So humans with a tendency to keep to their own, were themselves more likely to survive and breed. That tendency toward, say, favoring a mate from one's own tribe, is a common instinct in humans, as natural and innate as revulsion toward snakes.
