VDH Commentary: Comey Faces Indictment, But His Real Crimes Remain Untouched

We have no idea whether the current DOJ indictments will lead to a conviction of James Comey, namely that he authorized FBI subordinates to leak to the media and then lied about it, obstructing Congress in the process.

It may come down to the word of Comey, a known fabricator, against the testimony of his former subordinate, Andrew McCabe, an admitted liar. Take your pick.

We know, however, that Comey is not facing a Trumpian $500 million in potential fines, nor 93 indictments, nor the scrutiny of five different local, state, and federal prosecutors. Nor, like some of the J6 arrested, will he be sent to solitary confinement to await a trial in a year or two or be charged with “illegal parading.”

  1. In Merry Old England the Elizabeth I would have him drawn and quartered for his treasonous acts. I miss the old days.

  2. Comey’s current charges are light weight and his trial will take place in the Democrat enclave of Alexandria, Virginia so he's gonna skate. In addition any further indictments will be smothered by the deep imbedded progressive faction still remaining in the Department of Justice

  3. The former DOJ prosecutor resigned when he was pressured to indict Comey because he thought the case was too weak to get a conviction. When this goes to court and Comey is found not guilty, Trump will be handing the Democrats and the MSM a bigly victory.

    2. They'll stretch the process out to late 28, if they were smart.

    3. 100% Agree.
Trump's DOJ has a less than stellar track record. It used to be the case that if you were indicted by the DOJ you had a foot in jail already.
When Comey is acquitted it will be on every front page and you can expect every democrat to use it as a campaign message.
I'm not sure that dragging this into 2028 is a good idea. Seems like at some point we will have to eat crow. I would rather get it done fast and as far as possible from the elections.

  5. They are all related in some way. It's as though we are back under the thumb of merry old england and royalty.
The worst part is that none of them announce the relations. It's as though they know it's wrong.....

  6. Nothing will come of this. In a couple years it will be a faded memory

  7. Right now, he should be sharing a prison cell with a bunch of his cohorts (like clapper, strozk, page, and steele for starters).
And if someone out there has the gall to say "but he's only been indicted, he hasn't been found guilty" or any other such bullshit, I'll remind you how over 1500 patriots were thrown in jail for years and never had their day in court.
