I love Jethro Tull, the face of the band Ian Anderson is a one of a kind talented musician I've had the pleasure to see them live twice. Excellent choice JD
The first 2 albums I ever owned were Stand Up and Benefit. Still at the top of my playlists. Very few songs that are not played when I listen to their albums.
77,Songs From The Wood Tour, saw many times as a young teen!
I first saw Tull in 1975,was 12,had babysitter for the weekend and she and boyfriend took me,was tail end of Warchild Tour,Minstrel soon coming out.
Bombs going off on stage/people dressed as animals/excellent music, was literally a rock n roll circus!
Saw Tull over 30 times in 70's,literally seen the band a 100 times easy thru five decades, never the same after 70's but still a few shining moments that make it worth it.
Lol, I think we got that impression. I saw them at the New Orleans Municipal Auditorium and at the Zoo in New Orleans.. The zoo was outside on the levee close to the entrance . It began just as it was getting dark and all the animals were doing their thing behind us. It put a whole different vibe with the lions, tigers and elephants making their noises while the band played Bungle in the Jungle.. Way too much fun JD
I remember showing up at college orientation at SUNY Stony Brook in July of 1969. In the evening there was some band playing in the courtyard. Some group I hadn’t heard of. Nothing else going on so we all went. Frontman was some dude in a bathrobe who played a friggin flute. WTF was that? I was hooked!
I saw Jethro Tull in Lexington, KY the night before their Songs from the Wood album was released. They played the entire album for us, then (because it was the current hit) closed with Bungle in the Jungle. Great night!
The best Tull show I saw was at The Hampton Beach Casino in NH back in the 70s, opening for them was Yes on one of their early American tours. Very good show. - WDS
