In Norway, small homemade stills are also somewhat common due to the price of alcohol, but the ones I've seen look so well made and immaculate that they reminded me of professional installations. The stores there sell little bottles of flavoring (scotch, rum, gin, etc.).
I knew a former Russian soldier once, the shit they did to drink was fucked up. They would put a metal rod outside in below zero weather and stir cheap perfume to get everything but the alcohol to freeze and stick to it. They'd have fragrant piss afterward. Something else with glue that would make it so they didn't shit for days.

It's not hard to make booze, even good booze.Someone here is either cutting corners to boost profits, or is deliberately poisoning people.
