Day 1-4: Pinto beans and cornbread, made with dried beans you have to 'look' to remove stones and stuff, usually started the day before. Day 5-6: Chili made with pinto beans, and cornbread Day 7: Chili Dogs!!!! Whooo, a feast. Repeat cycle.
Occassionally breaking with pork chops and mashed taters, and then reboot the cycle.
You can save a lot of money doing that.
And, of course, boiling down the turkey carcass from Thanksgiving and Christmas to remove even more meat and make, eventually, a very thick turkey gelatin to use as flavoring for soups and pot-pies. (wife finally had me stop that because the smell of boiling a carcass for two days just made her sick.)
I took so many shots in 03’, I’m not sure if I’m still human or not. From a complete rabies series to six anthrax and everything in between. Was going to run a plasma furnace burning something we never found. Did not take any Covid shots, though! Eod1sg Ret

ReplyDeleteRe: #18--back in the day a deft brush stroke or two would turn a Mayflower moving truck logo into a giant FU sign.
