I could possibly understand this if it were a cemetery. You pay a cemetery once, and then they have to maintain the place forever. I don't get the economics of that. This, though, was a mortuary (aka: funeral home). You pay through the nose for even the cheapest burial or cremation. They should be making out like bandits.

I'm sitting across the bar talking about this with the owner of the restaurant, whose day job is mortician. He says this type of situation happens much more than the public is aware. And then proceeded to regale me with horror stories while I ate my burger.
