Silver Plume, Colorado

Silver Plume was established in 1869 near the rich silver deposits west of Georgetown. Only a few buildings were erected that first year, and the town’s early development was slow.

  1. I wasn't a mining town fan until I started reading these stories, now I'm really getting into them along with some actual mines themselves... I'm following a YTube channel exploring an old silver mine outside of Deadwood.

    1. I got hooked on them the same way, but with books instead of the internet.

    2. I've always loved history and did lots of reading on the subject... As I've mentioned to you before mining is not a thing around here, we drill a lot of holes but run pipe into it, so I never gave it much thought.. until these stories you post.. Thanks for perking my interest in them.

  2. Silver plume used to have a natural aquifer running from the ground. We used to fill up gallon jugs of natural springwater on the way home after being up in the mountains, usually mushroom hunting or fishing.
