Many think of the Battle of the Somme as purely a British operation. But this was actually a joint effort between the British and the French. Not only that, but there were a few Americans who fought in the Battle of the Somme as well. In this episode, we're looking at the French sector and the story of Alan Seeger, a war poet from America who would go to fight for France but never make it home.
