READY..... AIM..... FIRE!!!!!!

Did you REALLY think the British were going to blast you, Mrs O?
Royal Navy ordered to turn ship's guns around - because they were pointing at Michelle Obama's hotel room.

A British Royal Navy ship was ordered to turn its guns around because they were parked pointing at a hotel room Michelle Obama was staying in.
Fearing the First Lady might be in danger, minders ordered the captain of the HMS Edinburgh stationed in Cape Town, South Africa, to switch them away from her five-star suite.

The U.S. agents have since been accused of overreacting after it emerged the Sea Dart missiles were, in fact, loaded with blanks having been used during a ceremony in honour of a sailor who had died.

Former Royal Navy officer Mike Critchley told the Daily Mirror: 'This is typical American Secret Service going over the top.
'I would have thought that they could trust their British allies to not put a missile through the bedroom window of the First Lady. It is unfortunate that this happened at an extremely sad time for the ship.'
Mrs Obama was on an official visit to South Africa in June and was staying in a luxury suite at the five star Table Bay Hotel.
The boat, meanwhile, happened to be in the middle of a ceremonial routine to remember Lieutenant Sara Hellawell, a 26-year-old whose body was found onboard a few days before.
That did not stop the agents raging at them, saying: 'You can’t point those guns at the First Lady.'

And thanks to William for sending me the link.

When I saw the story online about the Iranians' failed attempt to launch a live monkey into orbit, I said "Oh no! The Iranians killed a monkey!"
Lisa looked up from her book and asked "The Iranians killed Obama?"
After I quit laughing and explained it, she wanted to know how they tried to launch a monkey into space, did they shove a skyrocket up its' ass or what?

I'd have "slipped" my boots to his nuts for a real picture

“One man lost his balance and was run over by a police motorcycle” no mention about the half dozen photographers standing in a semicircle around him snapping shots as he delivered his perfoprmance. (CBS Local)
Don’t get too upset.
The whole incident was totally staged. The protester wasn’t even in front of the police officer. He just laid down and started writhing in pain like he had been hit.

I don't care if it was staged or not, it gave me a warm fuzzy medicated feeling when I saw it.

The Black House will be sending its' condolences

(LWJ) — The son of the ‘Blind Sheikh,’ the spiritual leader of the Egyptian Islamic Group who is in a US jail for the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, was killed in a US airstrike in Afghanistan, according to a statement released today by the terror group.
The Egyptian Islamic Group announced that Ahmed Omar Abdul Rahman, who is also known as Saif, “was killed in an American air bombing from an unmanned plane on the frontlines in Afghanistan,” according to a brief statement that was released on the terror group’s website. The statement was translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.
The Egyptian Islamic Group said Ahmed was killed today, but did not state where in Afghanistan he was killed. Ahmed’s role in the Egyptian Islamic Group was not disclosed.
The International Security Assistance Force could not confirm the report of Ahmed’s death. “We have no operational reporting of this event,” an ISAF spokesman told The Long War Journal.
Ahmed is the son of Sheikh Omar Abdul Rahman, or the Blind Sheikh who is currently serving a life sentence in a US federal prison for his role in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 that killed six Americans. Al Qaeda operations chief Khalid Sheikh Mohammed financed the operation, and several al Qaeda operatives, including Ramzi Yousef, carried out the attack. The terror group detonated a large truck bomb in the basement of the building with the intent of bringing the North tower crashing down onto the South Tower. Eight years later, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed succeeded in bringing down both buidlings by orchestrating the ramming of airplanes into the Twin Towers during the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

Brians' views on the Conservative candidates

There comes a time when you back up and regroup. Politically that seems to be expedient, Romney was never top of my list, not once, Bachmann, well let us just say, not gonna happen. Perry? Well, on paper he might be a good candidate but his fumble in debates can not be dismissed. Cain? Herman Cain? At first I was suspect, now I cast a jaundiced eye.
Thing is, after a few debates and listening to his speeches I am becoming a fan, yeah yeah I know, a bit early to pick a horse in this race, but come on, this is a race of cripples, (no offense mean,t I am 90% disabled myself) they all have problems. Thing is Politics aside, the fate of OUR Country comes into play and for the life of me I can not figure out why Romney, Bachmann and Perry need to be running, according to their platforms and their debates the current crisis is just an easy fix - all we have to do is elect them, They say we need Leadership. Therein lies the problem, I say we need Representatives. Not leaders,
We The People are the leaders and they are supposed to "Represent Us". I do not think I am wrong about this, read the "Federalist Papers" or read the Constitution, both will show you a new light on what we are seeing.
Right now, Herman Cain is the only person I see that has embraced what our Founding Fathers put all their money and and blood into, and some, if you actually know history gave their life for it.
How many today would stand so firm, stand so fast that life is worth their liberty?
Few if any. Well OK, a few, there is a few core Americans that abide by and embrace Liberty Or Death. I think you will find they are also the ones that put on the uniform and fight or fought for Liberty.
To sum it up. Out of the field of so called Republican Candidates my belief is Herman Cain is a patriot and the others only wear a badge saying that.
Thanks for sending this to me, Brian.
Anybody got any thoughts on this? Be nice if you disagree, respect the mans' right to his own views.

Poor Bobo. He was a good monkey.....

Iran acknowledged as a failure Wednesday its attempt to send a live monkey into space last month -- touted as its first step towards launching a man into space.
"The Kavoshgar-5 rocket carrying a capsule with a live animal (a monkey) was launched during Shahrivar," an Iranian calendar month spanning August 23 to September 22, Deputy Science Minister Mohammad Mehdinejad-Nouri was quoted as saying by the ISNA news agency.
"However, the launch was not publicised as all of its anticipated objectives were not accomplished," Mehdinejad-Nouri told reporters.
He said the launch of a live animal into space was "strategic, and a priority," and expressed hope that future launches would attain more of the objectives set.
On October 3, Iran indefinitely postponed plans to send a live monkey into space, without giving any reasons.
"One cannot give a set date for this project and as soon as our nation's scientists announce the readiness (of the project) it will be announced," said Hamid Fazeli, head of Iran's Space Organisation.
The project envisaged launching a capsule with life support using the Kavoshgar-5 rocket to an altitude of 120 kilometres (75 miles) for a 20-minute sub-orbital flight.
The project was unveiled in February by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
At the time, Fazeli touted the launch of a large animal as the first step towards sending a man into space, which Tehran says is scheduled for 2020.
In mid-March, Iran announced the successful launch of an earlier version of the rocket, Kavoshgar-4, carrying a test capsule designed to house the monkey.
Iran has already sent small animals into space -- a rat, turtles and worms -- aboard a capsule carried by its Kavoshgar-3 rocket in 2010.
The Islamic republic, which first put a satellite into orbit in 2009, has outlined an ambitious space programme amid Western concerns the rocket technology may be linked to developing ballistic missiles that could deliver nuclear warheads.
Tehran has repeatedly denied that its nuclear and scientific programmes mask military ambitions.

Smart, too!

Me and Lisa were eating the other night when my psycho neighbors' grandkid started squalling. I swear to coyotes that kid has the loudest fucking mouth I have ever heard. And he's too young to talk so he's just screaming for screamings' sake.
I put up with it for about 2.3 seconds before I looked up and said "I'm fixing to get up and shove a Jolly Rancher in his mouth. Maybe we'll get lucky and the little bastard will choke on it and die."
Lisa laughed and said "You know what the scary part is? There was absolutely no interruption in your thought process just now."
No, the scary part is her realizing there was no interruption in my thought process. She knows me better than I thought.

Fuck you AND your apologies, pal.

This is from the first and last paragraphs of an article found here at
Hit the link and read the entire thing, it's pretty good.

Leaked cables show Japan nixed a presidential apology to Hiroshima and Nagasaki for using nukes to end the overseas contingency operation known as World War II. Will the next president apologize for the current one?

A heretofore secret cable dated Sept. 3, 2009, was recently released by WikiLeaks. Sent to Secretary of State Clinton, it reported Japan's Vice Foreign Minister Mitoji Yabunaka telling U.S. Ambassador John Roos that "the idea of President Obama visiting Hiroshima to apologize for the atomic bombing during World War II is a 'nonstarter.'"

The Japanese feared the apology would be exploited by anti-nuclear groups and those opposed to the defensive alliance between Japan and the U.S.

Whatever Tokyo's motive, Obama's motive was to once again apologize for defending freedom, this time for winning with devastating finality the war Japan started.

New Maine Law Aims To Eliminate Wolf-Dog Hybrids

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Wolf hybrids, animals that are a cross between wolves and dogs, will vanish from Maine over time if a new state law works as designed.
The law prohibits people from acquiring wolf hybrids without a special wildlife-in-captivity permit, and it requires current owners to have the animals neutered.
Supporters of the law say wolf hybrids have been responsible for numerous brutal attacks around the country, particularly against children. Wolf hybrids are predatory and should be in the wild, said state Sen. David Trahan, who sponsored the bill that outlaws them.
"Wolf hybrids are not pets,'' he said. "Would people consider bringing a coyote or mountain lion into their home crossed with another cat or another dog?''
Jim Doughty, who operates a wolf hybrid refuge in Bristol that is not affected by the law because it is already licensed by the state, said people who want the animals will skirt the law by licensing them as shepherd or huskie mixes rather than wolf hybrids. The law is misguided and unfairly brands the animals, said Doughty, who keeps four wolf hybrids at the Wolf Ledge Refuge.
"Any animal, no matter whether it's a pure wolf or a Chihuahua or a pug or anything else, depends on the person and how they raise it,'' he said. "It's the same thing with your kids. If you're abusive toward your kids, they're not going to be so good. If you work with them, they'll be great.''
Maine legislators last spring passed emergency legislation aimed at getting rid of wolf hybrids, which are also known as wolf dogs or wolf-dog hybrids. Trahan introduced the legislation after people in his district raised concerns about Doughty's wolf hybrid refuge, which he opened last year and is licensed to have up to 20 of the animals.
Wolf hybrids have been responsible for at least 84 attacks that have either maimed or killed people in the past three decades, said Merritt Clifton, editor of Animal People, an animal protection newspaper based in Washington state. Of those attacks, 69 involved children and 19 resulted in deaths.
Clifton, who has tracked dog attacks nationally for decades, said that's a huge number considering wolf dogs make up only an estimated 1/100th of 1 percent of all dogs in the U.S.

Fuck, I love my wolfdog. He's the first one I've ever lived with (I don't think anybody could own that motherfucker) and I wouldn't be adverse to owning another one. He's got all the qualities I've ever wanted in a dog, and then some.
He's protective of his property without being aggressive, but he lets it be known he won't put up with any bullshit. He loves kids and other animals, loves women but not so much men which is cool when you consider most burglars are men. There's no doubt in my mind that he'd die for me and Lisa if it came down to the wire.
His bad points? I don't think I'll ever be able to tame him completely, not that I'd want to. He still has a few wild ways. He minds when he wants to, if not, he just wanders off. He'll never be broke completely to a leash - he has to lead. He plays really rough with me when we roughhouse, almost to the point of him drawing blood. And last but not least, he's smart, a lot smarter than he needs to be. There's times I'll swear that fucker can reason just like a human.
I gotta agree with the article though. It just depends on the owner and how the animal is treated. I've seen some good dogs ruined for life, by both cruelty and (ARE YOU READING THIS,  LISA?) spoiling it. I've found over the years that it's best to show very little emotion when dealing with the dog right at first - don't get angry and don't lavish it with rewards when it does good. And never ever hit or kick the dog unless you want to look over your shoulder the rest of it's life. You may forget doing it but I doubledamn guarentee you that it won't. And to be straight up with you, if you're the kind to take out your temper on an animal, you deserve to get bit.

I'm coming clean for y'all

It was pointed out to me that I must be putting on airs because in the post yesterday about my car kit, I took the pictures on the rear of the truck which was fairly clean.
Well, nobody can accuse me of trying to impress anybody. Of course I took the fucking pictures where it was clean - I was out there to take pictures, not clean the bed of my truck. Jeez.....
Besides, all the stuff in my truck is important or it wouldn't be there.

There's a jug of water for CharlieGodammit, his stay-the-fuck-in-the-truck chain, my comealong, a length of chain, an e-tool, a crawdad net and a target board.
The funny thing about all that riding right up against the cab is that it keeps CGD on his toes when he's in the back. He's more nimble than he looks.

Aimless Obama walks alone

by Michael Goodwin
The reports are not good, disturbing even. I have heard basically the same story four times in the last 10 days, and the people doing the talking are in New York and Washington and are spread across the political spectrum.
The gist is this: President Obama has become a lone wolf, a stranger to his own government. He talks mostly, and sometimes only, to friend and adviser Valerie Jarrett and to David Axelrod, his political strategist.
Everybody else, including members of his Cabinet, have little face time with him except for brief meetings that serve as photo ops. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner both have complained, according to people who have talked to them, that they are shut out of important decisions.
The president’s workdays are said to end early, often at 4 p.m. He usually has dinner in the family residence with his wife and daughters, then retreats to a private office. One person said he takes a stack of briefing books. Others aren’t sure what he does.
If the reports are accurate, and I believe they are, they paint a picture of an isolated man trapped in a collapsing presidency. While there is no indication Obama is walking the halls of the White House late at night, talking to the portraits of former presidents, as Richard Nixon did during Watergate, the reports help explain his odd public remarks.

Cain - Move Protests to the White House

( - Republican presidential nominee candidate Herman Cain called for the Occupy Wall Street protestors to relocate to the White House, in remarks he made Friday at the Family Research Council’s annual Values Voter Summit, in Washington, D.C.
“When a reporter asked me the other day, well, what do you think about those demonstrations up on Wall Street, I said, first of all, Wall Street didn’t write these failed economic policies -- the White House did,” said Cain.
He then added, “Why don’t you move the demonstrations to the White House?”
The Values Voter Summit is a three-day conference that brings together conservatives aligned on traditional ideas, beliefs and values. The summit also included appearances by presidential nominee candidates Rick Perry, Michele Bachmann and Newt Gingrich.
“Wall Street didn’t write those failed policies, Wall Street didn’t spend a trillion dollars,” said Cain. “Wall Street isn’t asking to spend another $450 billion. It didn’t work with a trillion. It’s not gonna’ work with $450 billion. You can demonstrate all you want on Wall Street. The problem is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue!”
Cain also quoted the Declaration of Independence, stating that “it is the right of the people to alter and to abolish” the government. “We’ve got some altering and abolishing to do!” he said.
“I want to thank you all for being here, because that means you get it,” Cain remarked. “And you’re not going to let the liberals take this country down.”
“I may not have ever held a high political office, but I know what leaders do,” said Cain, who made an appeal to those in attendance with an endorsement of traditional values, pro-life beliefs and an understanding that marriage is defined as between one man and one woman. He also said as president he would have asked the Department of Justice to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), which the Obama administration is not doing, and is, in fact, actively opposing.

Proposed millionaires income tax would hit Democratic states hardest

The millionaire tax being pushed by Senate Democrats this week would hit taxpayers in Democrat-dominated states almost twice as hard as those in Republican-dominated states, according to an analysis by The Daily Caller.
States that have elected two Republican senators tend to have much lower levels of economic inequality than states which have elected two Democratic senators. Democrat-dominated states tend to have higher percentages of very rich people, higher percentages of very poor people, and a lower percentage of middle-income people.

Homeland Security Released Terror Operative Who Illegally Crossed Border (PJM Exclusive)

Two Bangladeshis who were caught by Customs and Border Protection illegally crossing the border in June 2010 admitted under questioning that they were members of a designated terrorist organization that signed on to a fatwa by Osama bin Laden pledging to wage war against Americans.
But amazingly, after one of the men requested asylum, he was released on bond. And now one Homeland Security official tells me, concerning the released terror operative, “We don’t have the slightest idea where he is now.”
The two men, Muhammad Nazmul Hasan and Mirza Muhammad Saifuddin, were intercepted near Naco, Arizona, not long after they had crossed the border on June 25, 2010. During their interrogation, one of the men admitted that they were members of Harakat-ul-Jihad-i-Islami Bangladesh (HuJI-B), which was designated a terrorist organization by the United States in February 2008. Earlier this month the group claimed responsibility for a bombing a courthouse in New Delhi. That attack killed 11 and wounded at least 45 others.
A 2006 State Department report described HuJI-B’s goals and connections to other terrorist groups, including al-Qaeda:
The goal of HUJI-B is to establish Islamic rule in Bangladesh. The group’s core membership consists primarily of Bangladeshi veterans of fighting the Soviets in Afghanistan. The Bangladeshi Government arrested a senior HUJI-B leader, Mufti Abdul Hannan, in October. HUJI-B has connections to the Pakistani militant groups Harakat ul-Jihad-I-Islami (HUJI) and Harakat ul-Mujahedin (HUM), which advocate similar objectives in Pakistan and Jammu and Kashmir. The leaders of HUJI-B and HUM both signed the February 1998 fatwa sponsored by Usama bin Ladin that declared American civilians to be legitimate targets for attack.
Capturing two terrorist operatives illegally crossing the border would appear to be a big win for the Border Patrol. But in a stunning move, one of the men was released on bond after claiming asylum.
A Homeland Security official I met with last week in Washington, D.C., who was familiar with the case says that no government agency is tasked with monitoring those that are released pending asylum hearings, and that the terror operative’s whereabouts now are unknown.
That this guy was allowed out on bond is criminal. We don’t have the slightest idea where he is now. If he sets off a car bomb in Tucson or Phoenix, or shoots up a shopping mall or elementary school somewhere, there will be a lot of finger-pointing. But nobody seems that concerned about it now. And this is not the first time something like this has happened.
Back in March I reported here exclusively at PJMedia on a Department of Justice memo submitted in a court case of Ahmed Muhammed Dhakane, who ran a human smuggling ring out of Brazil on behalf of the Somali Al-Shabaab terrorist organization. Dhakane was nearly granted asylum, but was eventually charged with lying about his terrorist associations based on his conversations with a jailhouse informant. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Dhakane’s case was representative of the surging wave of Somalis who have been intercepted crossing the border over the past two years. And now some officials are worried that the case of Hasan and Saifuddin might be the tip of the iceberg of extremist Bangladeshis who are leaving their country under pressure from authorities there cracking down on HuJI-B and setting up terror-support operations in the United States. And the preferred transit route into the U.S. appears to be illegally entering over the southern border — the route taken by the two Bangladeshi terror operatives.

I would

Lisa got on my ass one night about not posting pictures of fat chicks on my blog. A couple of days later, she sent me this. Somehow I got a feeling that I should post it.
So I ask, "Would you or wouldn't you?"

My kinda woman

I was walking from the door finishing off a cherry pastry when Lisa comes out of the bedroom, says "Oooh, cherry lips!" and comes over to get a taste.
We embrace, look deeply into each others' eyes and kiss again. In a moment of uncharacteristic tenderness, I held up my sugar coated fingers for her to lick.
"Uh-uh" she said as she wiggled out of my arms and went past "I don't know where else them motherfuckers been!"
She's even more like me than I am sometimes. Scary, I know.

A tornado waiting to happen

My car kit

Back in January of  '97 we caught a series of warm winter storms that really fucked things up here in the valley. Widespread flooding from the premature snowmelt to the point that the Tuolumne, Stanislaus and San Joaquin Rivers all overflowed their banks and joined together to form a huge lake.
About the only things that were semi-dry were the roads because they were built up higher. It was a strange sight, thousands of acres underwater with a road snaking down it for miles.
I had to cross the San Joaquin to get to work in the next county and the water was so fucking high it was sloshing over onto the roadbed. I honestly didn't know if the bridge was still going to be there when I got off that morning and there were only 3 bridges crossing the river within a reasonable distance, so I started carrying a road bag with me in case I had to get a room on the other side of the river for a night or two.
It had all the essentials, just your basic overnight bag. Small enough to be out of the way but had everything you needed to get by for a day or two - extra change of clothes, toiletries, pint of whiskey, shit like that.
I never needed it but I stayed in the habit of keeping something like that behind the front seat of the truck.

Well, the floods of 97 are history and life is back to normal, full of uncertainty and fear. I've adjusted my roadbag - before it was geared to a night somewhere else, now it's geared to getting home on foot.
My line of thinking on its' contents are this:
I only work 35 miles from the house. That can be walked if needed. Granted, there will be much bitching and moaning about it, and it may take a while longer than I want because I'm old, but I can do it if I have the basic shit. Gotta have shelter (I ain't walking 35 miles without a break, fuck that shit), food and water.

I need calories for 2 reasons. Number One, you gotta have calories for fuel and Number Two, I get downright cranky if I don't get my 4-5 meals a day.
I took care of the munchies with an MRE and heater along with 8 or 10 nasty fucking oat granola bars from the Dollar Store. Why the nasty ones? That way I ain't tempted to eat them when I'm on the road and get hungry. I mean, they don't taste bad, they just don't have any taste period. But they're 110 calories each. I also had a tuna and cracker lunch in there (that I need to replace) but I got hungry and....... well, you know.
As far as the water goes, there's the fancy water bottle and a package of purification tabs. I also have a 2 quart collapsible canteen somewhere behind the front seat but I didn't feel like digging it out for the picture. I've got a river and several canals along my route home, so the plan is to fill them both, treat them, and hit the road. By the time the nasty germs are all dead, I'll be at my next water source. Drink, refill and Charlie Mike.
For shelter there's an 6'x8' camo tarp behind the front seat and then there's a space blanket to wrap up in. It's all I need, it rarely gets below 30 degrees here at night. Besides, if I get too cold, I'll just fucking walk.
There's also a tube of bug spray, a couple of hair ties for my hippie hair, a small bottle of liniment, toothbrush and paste and a pair of socks for my comfort.
I also have an LED flashlight, 50 feet of 550 cord, a pair of pocket binoculars, a pocket knife and multitool and a fancy weather alert radio that D turned me onto.
And then there's a neat little package that I bought at the surplus store for 12 bucks that has all kinds of neat shit. I don't know exactly what all there is because I haven't opened it, but I can see a compass, matches, about 3 feet of duct tape, some light weight wire (for snares?) some monofilament and hooks and some first aid shit.
You'll notice one thing that is conspicuously absent and that's a firearm. My employer conducts random searches of vehicles leaving the property as well as retaining the right to search anybody and/or vehicles at any time. So that takes care of that.
The one piece of gear that I keep in my vehicle and hunting gear at all times, believe it or not, is a shamagh like our friends the muslims wear. Seriously, that thing will keep the sun off, the skeeters from biting, the sand off you and it does a damn fine job of breaking up the outline of a human head.
I wear one all the time when I'm coyote hunting, which will probably bite me in the ass though if some Afghanistan or Iraqi war vet is also hunting the same area and spots me wandering through the brush...... But as far as the head rag goes, I'm not too proud to learn from our enemies.
But yeah, I put all that shit in a surplus map case that I bought at my local Army/Navy surplus store for $8.50. It all fits with more than enough room to squeeze anything else that I might scrounge out of the truck at the last minute like sunblock, batteries, chapstick, etc.
So the whole package as pictured weighs less than 5 pounds, fits nicely behind my front seat and can be carried slung across the back, over the shoulder like a purse or strapped around the waist, ass-pack style.

So that's my basic everyday car kit, the one I carry as I travel during the week back and forth to work.
If I were headed up to the mountains or any considerable distance from home, I just toss my Git Kit in the back of the truck. I can run hard for 3-5 days with what I have in there, but that's a post for the near future.

If don't already have something for your car, consider spending the money and putting it together. Tailor it to your specific needs - for instance, if you don't work in comfortable shoes, put a pair of walking shoes in with it. If you take meds several times a day, put a couple days' worth of meds in there.
You'd be surprised at how little you need to buy. Fuck, everybody has an extra toothbrush laying around, a change of old clothes, you know? I think my total outlay for this was maybe 20 bucks.

Theresa Monique Jefferson appears in this photo provided by the Baltimore County Police Dept.

A Saturday morning of shopping turned into an emergency hazmat situation at a Baltimore Walmart where two patrons threw bleach and disinfectant at one another, officials said.
Baltimore County Police responded to a call at about 10:48 a.m. Saturday and found two women fighting inside the store.
The bleach and disinfectant created toxic fumes, forcing the immediate evacuation of the entire Arbutus store, officials told ABC News affiliate ABC 2. It closed for several hours.
Fire, EMS and hazardous materials units were dispatched to the scene, as well as 10 medics.
Nineteen people reportedly received treatment, including three Walmart employees. One person was taken to the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital for treatment, officials said.
Three Walmart employees were being treated for respiratory problems, a Walmart spokeswoman told ABC News.
Police have arrested Theresa Monique Jefferson, 33, after she turned herself in to authorities, according to the Associated Press.
She has reportedly been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, theft under $100 and malicious destruction of property. She is being held on $350,000 bail.
The brawl was a result of an ongoing dispute between Jefferson and the victim because the victim's boyfriend is the father of Jefferson's child, according to the AP.
Police spokesman Shawn Vinson told the Washington Post that Jefferson initiated the attack when she followed the victim into the store.

Is it 1984 already?

Homeland Security moves forward with 'pre-crime' detection

An internal U.S. Department of Homeland Security document indicates that a controversial program designed to predict whether a person will commit a crime is already being tested on some members of the public voluntarily, CNET has learned.

If this sounds a bit like the Tom Cruise movie called "Minority Report," or the CBS drama "Person of Interest," it is. But where "Minority Report" author Philip K. Dick enlisted psychics to predict crimes, DHS is betting on algorithms: it's building a "prototype screening facility" that it hopes will use factors such as ethnicity, gender, breathing, and heart rate to "detect cues indicative of mal-intent."
The latest developments, which reveal efforts to "collect, process, or retain information on" members of "the public," came to light through an internal DHS document obtained under open-government laws by the Electronic Privacy Information Center. DHS calls its "pre-crime" system Future Attribute Screening Technology, or FAST.
"If it were deployed against the public, it would be very problematic," says Ginger McCall, open government counsel at EPIC, a nonprofit group in Washington, D.C.
It's unclear why the June 2010 DHS document (PDF) specified that information is currently collected or retained on members of "the public" as part of FAST, and a department representative declined to answer questions that CNET posed two days ago.
Elsewhere in the document, FAST program manager Robert Middleton Jr. refers to a "limited" initial trial using DHS employees as test subjects. Middleton says that FAST "sensors will non-intrusively collect video images, audio recordings, and psychophysiological measurements from the employees," with a subgroup of employees singled out, with their permission, for more rigorous evaluation.

Just in time for the Obamessiahs' campaign

WASHINGTON (AP) — A key House investigator says he could send subpoenas to the Obama administration as soon as this week over weapons lost amid the Mexican drug war.
House oversight committee chairman Darrell Issa suggested on "Fox News Sunday" that Attorney General Eric Holder knew about the gun trafficking operation known as "Fast and Furious" earlier than he has acknowledged. Subpoenas could go out as soon as this week, Issa said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in 2009 allowed intermediaries for drug cartels to buy thousands of weapons from Arizona gun shops and lost track of about 1,400 of the 2,000 of those guns. Some of those weapons have been recovered at crime scenes in Mexico.

I find it ironic that the agency that was formed to trample on our God-given Rights is under the gun (pun intended) for worse crimes that they are supposed to protect us from.
Fuck 'em. The ATF has run rampant for too long, answering to nobody, and making their own rules as they go along.
It's time to disband the entire agency and convict Holder and his master, Obama.

So, how's that Reconquista working out for you now?

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — Terrified by Alabama's strict new immigration crackdown, parents living in the state illegally say they are doing something that was unthinkable just days ago — asking friends, relatives, co-workers and acquaintances to take their children if they're arrested or deported.
Many illegal immigrants signed documents in the past week allowing others to care for their children if needed, assistance groups say, and a couple living illegally in nearby Shelby County extracted a promise from the man's boss to send their three young children — all U.S. citizens — to Mexico should they be jailed under the law.
A key sponsor of the measure, state Sen. Scott Beason, said such concerns weren't raised when legislators were considering the bill, and he wonders if the stories now are designed to "pull on heart strings" and build sympathy for illegal immigrants.
But for Maria Patino — who prays every time she leaves home — even a chance encounter with police could end with her two elementary-age children being left alone or taken to foster care if she and her husband are sent back to Mexico. Both are in the country illegally and have no friends or relatives close enough to take in the kids.
"Every time I leave I don't know if I will come back," Patino, 27, said through tears. "I can't stop working. My daughters need shoes and other things."
Social worker Jazmin Rivera helps dozens of Spanish-speaking immigrants fill out paperwork weekly, and many are now seeking legal documents called powers of attorney so friends and others could care for their children.
"People are scared, and they want to be sure their kids are safe if something happens to them," said Rivera, a case manager at the Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama.
Beason, R-Gardendale, has his doubts about how widespread such cases really are.
"I would do whatever it took for my family to stay with me," he said. "It's beyond my comprehension that you would just leave your children anywhere."

I know I'm being callous, but you knew there was a chance this could happen when you chose to invade MY Country, when you chose to enjoy life on my dime, when you chose to become a criminal.
No apologies from me, I don't feel a bit sorry for you or your family.

Snappy answers for dumbasses

I am a 38 year old divorced woman working part-time with no medical insurance. I dropped my $10K deductible government policy last year because it didn’t seem to make sense to continue paying premiums for something I couldn’t afford to use. I have a 20-year history of minor & major depressions & recently diagnosed myself with diabetes while treating my cat for it. I last saw a doctor & my dentist in 2008.
My younger brother committed suicide at age 28, due in part to the lack of appropriate medical care & insurance.

We are both part of the 99% & we are not alone.

Dear Diabetes Dilettante,
We're truly surprised your marriage didn't work out. Any woman with no medical training who can use a cat's illness to diagnose her own diabetes is quite the catch. A real keeper. Even the great Wilford Brimley needs to buy diabeetus testing supplies.
You're a veritable medical magician! (And seriously, how are you single? It boggles the mind.)
We're sure dozens of human diseases could be diagnosed by the average Joe if only he knew how to read the cryptic signs in every purr and meow. You owe it to the 99 Percent to share your talents with the world. If you don't, why, you're no better than the greedy Wall Street fat cats.
And really, there's nothing insane about this skill of yours at all, so don't let anyone tell you you're nuts. They're just jealous.

Why tatical nukes should be allowed under the 2nd Amendment

(The Hill) — Herman Cain charged Sunday that groups sympathetic to President Obama were ginning up the Occupy Wall Street protests to take attention away from the administration’s policies.
Cain, the GOP presidential candidate and former Godfather’s Pizza chief executive, also continued to call the growing protests “anti-American” and that demonstrators were merely jealous of those more successful.

“We know that the unions and certain union-related organizations have been behind these protests that are going on on Wall Street and other parts around the country,” Cain said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”
“It’s coordinated to create a distraction so people won’t focus on the failed policies of this administration,” he added

For his part, Cain also dubbed the protests anti-capitalist and said demonstrators would be betters served targeting the White House.
“I don’t have a lot of patience for people who want to protest the success of somebody else,” Cain said.
