Very much enjoyed the pedal-steel work on this cut. Do prefer the original Ian Tyson version along with Ian & Sylvia's "Four Strong Winds". Both are Go-To tunes on certain days. A great fan of Ian Tyson's song book.

Damn fine music. Listen to her often.
ReplyDeleteSomeday Soon is one of my favorites. It's even better than the Judy Collins original.
ReplyDeleteJudy Collins couldn't hold a candle to the original - Ian Tyson and Sylvia Fricker.

I never heard that one, but I like the Judy Collins version. Between the two, I still like the Boguss version.
DeleteNever cared for Judy Collins' version of Someday Soon, but Ian and Sylvia recorded the definitive version IMHO.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of her before now. But DAMN, that's some lovely and talented lady.

ReplyDeleteAmen, Brother. Highly recommended is Simpatico, the album she did with Chet Atkins.
