I sure hope that beer-belly on the right is a civilian contractor or something, 'cuz he isn't going to be doing any 3-mile run any time soon. (Anyone recognize the camo pattern - pretty sure it isn't US Army.)
I was on Post guard at Fort Carson Colorado in the 1975-1978 Time Frame and we were driving a Jeep around the Post Vehicle Motorpool one Saturday morning and we saw a cloud dust on the other side of the Motorpool when we got there a couple of minutes later and we saw a M577 Command Track Upside Down and a Civilian Contractor was coming out the door in the ramp with a dazed look on his face and muttering to himself. He said he was test driving it and something happened to the steering (Yeah Right). I would have loved to have heard his explanation to his boss.
This is a good opportunity to review the undercarriage and suspension with the troopers.

ReplyDeleteon flat ground , how the hell they do that
Tight turn with one track locked at high speed. Russian equipment is famous for flipping during hard turns.

ReplyDeleteIf you're going to fuck up, make em wonder how you did it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like they tried to pole vault that puppy. Buried the gun.
DeleteProbably rolled it trying to load or unload from a flatbed truck/ tank transport

ReplyDeleteRussia or Eastern Europe somewhere judging by the tank, looks like a T-72.
DeleteI hope the dude on the right is a civilian technician.
