  1. Two drop-in brackets and an oak 2 X 4 would be a helluva lot simpler, easier, and cheaper.

    1. No. Use 2 or even 3. Make sure the brackets are tied in well to the door posts.

      Problem with only 1 draw-bar is it allows the door to fold at the bar line. Most hinge screws are pathetic little thingies.

  7. That set up will not stop anyone determined to get in. Double doors both move away from each other and none of those locks will stop that and prevent the doors from opening. Even if one is deadbolted to the floor and upper jamb, these weak points would be trashed with one good hit by a reasonably large person.

      Considering that there are no doorknobs, No door jamb. I can see past the door. I'd say you are right. Or a display at a trade show.
