‘Secret’ ATF move could turn 3M to 4M gun owners into felons

President Trump’s Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, in a move his own son has warned could alienate hardcore supporters, has taken the first step to regulate and tax one of the nation’s most popular weapons for plinkers and hunters, the AR pistol.

Without notice and citing unexplained concerns about “public safety,” the Justice Department’s ATF has ordered the maker of several popular AR pistols to “cease and desist” in the production of the top seller “Honey Badger.”

The order, which maker Q LLC complied with to avoid criminal prosecution, has jarred the gun community.

  1. Proudly noncompliant.

Fuck those guys. The older I get, the less I care about bowing down. So come shoot my dog, we can all make the news that day.

  2. If those “alienated hardcore supporters” think Harris and Biden will treat gun rights better, then go ahead and don’t vote Trump. I’m so sick of these babies who can’t see Trump is fighting the media, the Democrats, and the Deep State. When will they figure out we’re at a huge decision point? Harris and Biden win and your AR pistols will be the least of your problems.

    1. That's what they said about Hillary.

How's it feel to be in the crosshairs of FBI/DHS for being a White Supremacist?

Feel good about voting the (maybe) lesser of two evils for the last few decades?

How close to the corner is your back at the moment?

How much better shape are you in, physically and logistically, versus four years ago?

  3. It’s a opinion piece.
More fake news. There’s a opinion piece on the daily caller.
    Saying Trump can’t possibly win.
Breitbart was running a story that most people thought Kamala won the debate.
Between here and election. Don’t believe anything unless you really know the author.
The left is pulling strings where you never knew they had strings!
The left has too much at stake to lose.
They are full on, all out.

    1. Opinion piece? How does facts and actual happenings to a manufacturer get labeled as "Opinion" Frank? That's a soup sandwich comment, doesn't make any sense.

    2. Hell's Bell's. If anyone on this blog is still wondering who they should vote for, then just sit it the fuck out. Don't vote. And next election get fucking educated moron.

I think everyone under the age of 40 needs to have their voting rights suspended until they can prove they are American, love America, support the Constitution, can spell, know the difference between "their, there and they're", can balance a checkbook and know the difference between communism and capitalism and show five reasons they will support one or the other.

  4. I always figured it was just a matter of time before the ATF pulled this stunt. It's like when they tried to get the green tip 5.56 ammo reclassified as armor piercing ammo.
Anybody with any amount of functioning brain cells would know that this is career bureaucrats trying to get away with something that is contrary to the president's wishes. The career bureaucrats in the state department are always pulling this stuff in regards to immigration issues, like issueing more visas shortly after the president announces his plan to limit them.

  5. The ATF has had sand in it's vagina about adjustable pistol braces for about a year. They have used two different arguments, that adjusting the brace was "altering it" and a LOP argument where they measure at an angle from the trigger instead of from the top of the receiver.

I set a AR9 pistol up for my daughter back in the early spring. I had read about the ATF concern with the adjustable brace, so her pistol got one of the SB Tactical stiff rubber braces. Had to beat it on with a rubber mallet. She is not quite strong enough to hold up a full sized rifle, so this was a good alternative in case I needed her help in defending the household.

  6. My AR pistol is in compliance it was when I built it and it is now. If they change the rules I can change my pistol 2 make it compliant I don't have to start over.

  7. Shall not be infringed. Sounds kinda plan English to me. So I don’t pay these fuck wads any attention. Now the companies its got to suck to have to deal with pompous know it all government agents. What the fuck are they with out their government status? NOTHING. Oh remember they got to sleep sometime. Matt Bracken wrote some about just this kind of out of control agencies.

  8. 3-4 million AR pistols? Wouldn't that mean it is a firearm in "common use"?

  9. The ATF started this shit with Q back in August, Q is just now releasing it on social media because even though the ATF *technically* backed off (during a phone conversation) they are refusing to put it in writing. That being said, a *lot* of the ATF higher ups are hold overs from clinton/bush/Obama and are emphatically *not* on trump's side. Note, I am not saying Trump haven't stepped on his dick regarding guns, cause with the bump stock/red flag bullshit he basically tapdanced on his dick, but *this* issue had nothing to do with him. (Other than possibly putting egg on his face, right before an election.)

Also as much as Trump has dropped the ball on guns, at least he isn't emphatically *anti gun* like the Dems.

    1. We have to be vigilant. Trump is an eastcoast elite and doesn't have a gun/hunter mentality. His boys hunt...kill anything that walks.

And the day will come when someone close to Trump tries to talk him into some gun control BS. And we will need to let him know that is not what we elected him to be fucking with. We can and do talk to Trump and he will listen.

The ATF has been a rouge agency for many years. They are the laughing stock of the DEA for one and probably more. The ATF collects lots of the misfits from other agencies and many of their members have become deep state commies. They will be sorted out. We know who they are and they aren't going anywhere to escape justice.

    2. I don't know if he'd listen or not. It didn't work with the bump stocks.

  10. I find it interesting the went after Q. As expensive as the honey badger/sugar weasel are, they are no where near the top when it comes to selling AR pistols. Those things aren’t functionally any different than what someone like PSA sells.

I think the entire NFA is bullshit and completely unconstitutional, but I’ve played their game with a couple AR lowers. E-filing a form 1 is a pain in the ass the first time, but it’s easily to learn. And I was pleasantly surprised now helpful and nice the people doing the paperwork were when I made a mistake on mine. They hooked me up, big time, and approved my second attempt with the same lower receiver on the same day I re-filed, which was only 30 days after my initial attempt. I was surprised at how fast it went. It also seemed to ‘trigger’ the two suppressors id been waiting on too, when were both approved on the same day as the SBR, even though the suppressors were filed a month apart. The first one was at about 8 months of waiting.

I mention the above to point out that if there are 3 million pistol braced weapons out there, even a few percent of them all trying to comply with this bullshit by applying for a stamp would absolutely swamp that system. I know maybe 2 or 3 people that have SBRs, but a bunch that have pistol braced ARs. NFA stuff has been selling this year too. It took surefire a month to ship a suppressor back in may. They are usually on point.

  11. The problem is the arm brace. Look up "cheek weld" on YouTube. It works. You Don need an arm brace

  12. The heads of the ATF are deep state bureaucrats that hate Trump. They did this just to make Trump look bad to his gun owner constituents.
