BRUSSELS/LONDON (Reuters) -France will reopen its borders to passengers from England on Wednesday, ending a blockade intended to stop the spread of a new coronavirus variant, but which has held up thousands of lorries before Christmas.
Much of the world shut its borders to Britain after a significantly more transmissible mutated coronavirus variant was discovered spreading swiftly across southern England.
Yeah that will work, NOT!!! grayman
ReplyDeleteThe very ideas of "covid-clear" travelers or "immunity cards" proves these proposals aren't based on science or reality. If this disease was something like chickenpox then yes, someone could reasonably claim "I've had it, gotten better, and now am immune from it for the foreseeable future."
ReplyDeleteBut for any virus like Covid, or even the freaking common cold, any attempt at classifying someone as "safe" or "immune" is pointless. Because any person who's been deemed safe could be exposed to any strain of said disease literally within minutes of getting their papers. Also, as we've seen with every other "may issue" type permission scheme it will inevitably lead to abuse of said system. Preferential treatment, denials for the "wrong kinds of people", coerced behavior or speech, and good old fashioned bribery and/or extortion.
Much of the world shut its borders to Britain after a fog of lies, misinformation and out and out bollox descended. These people know 4call about viruses but are loving the power trip
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile the border has remained open to the vibrant diversity arriving daily.
ReplyDelete1,000's (not just 100's) of semi-trucks backed up for a hundred miles waiting to be tested so they can cross the border. What a crock of shit.
ReplyDeleteBacked up a hundred miles? The end must stick out in Poland. Most of those "countries" are not much larger than our Northeast states, right?
