Feeling a little used and abused, are ya?

Thousands of National Guardsmen were forced to vacate congressional grounds on Thursday and are now taking their rest breaks outside and in nearby parking garages, after two weeks of sleepless nights protecting the nation’s capital in the wake of the violent assault on Jan. 6.

One unit, which had been resting in the Dirksen Senate Office building, was abruptly told to vacate the facility on Thursday, according to one Guardsman. The group was forced to rest in a nearby parking garage without internet reception, with just one electrical outlet, and one bathroom with two stalls for 5,000 troops, the person said.

“Yesterday dozens of senators and congressmen walked down our lines taking photos, shaking our hands and thanking us for our service. Within 24 hours, they had no further use for us and banished us to the corner of a parking garage. We feel incredibly betrayed,” the Guardsman said.

  1. So now they know what their congress insects think of their well being. Also go die for them as they are sending more soldiers into Syria. And they are to turn in their Own Personal weapons. Can't have trained soldiers with weapons that could be used against politicians.

  2. Didn't bother to verify it, but a friend told me this afternoon that the Florida and Texas units were recalled by their respective Governors.

  4. As of today, Texas, Florida, and I can't remember the third state, have ordered their NG home. The governors think they are showing the size if their balls now but would have meant a hell of a lot more if they had refused to send them in the first place.

    1. The NG was operating on title 10 orders, that means they were called up by the federal government, not the states. The governor's didn't send any of them.

  5. Now Republican politicians can return to their subservient positions and pretend to like Americans by tut-tutting their “anger” at the abuse of power displayed by Democrats. It’s really a cozy spot for making money by the ass-load while feigning concern.

    1. Not sure how much money it's going to generate this time around. A lot of the CivNats have noticed that the GOP is very long on talk and very short on action. Some will still fall for it, but some finally won't.

  6. I got out in '74. I'd done the Veet Nom thing but that was over and the purge was on, so the goddam Army was tossing people out left and right, no respect or regard for prior service rendered in good faith. I took a good look around at which way the wind was blowing and said, eff you, and you and you, and you Sir over there, eff you too, and all them sumbitches you call friends, double eff them for associating with you, if this is all we mean to you. This is how you get stoopid stuff like abandoning your allies in SE Asia and Carter decimating the military and troop families on food stamps to survive. Taiwan, is as good as gone; Biden will not defend it, or anyone else for that matter, even us, most likely.

Those currently carrying the flag aren't stupid and they're paying close attention. Biden is already talking about sending more troops to Syria. It's time to GTFO.

    1. Damn right, starve the beast! Not only has my oldest been telling recruiters thanks, but no thanks (He's a senior in HS) but I've also talked three of his friends from school out of serving as well!

    3. I did the same thing after The Deserts Shield and Storm. And they think the NG units are reliable and amenable to their whims. not after this fiasco. I heard on a news channel the Commandant of the Marine corps said thanks but NO THANKS and refused to send the marines to the dog and pony show on wednesday. There might still be some balls there. We will have to wait and see.

  7. The Uniparty needs to recoup the graft and corruption......

that Trump45 cost them with his “America...First” mandate......

They start another shooting war.....or energize an old one.......

Congress needs bribe money and the defense industry needs to sell more weapons and supplies.....

Everyone wins except Americans.....We get to die in more needless wars.

Well, duh! We only allow you insects to exist in order to pay taxes and die in our honor - or really just die. You haven't figured that out yet?

  8. Local radio reporting here in the DC area says a force of about 5000 ANG will remain into March! I don't know WTF for as the District has more cops (a dozen agencies have their own forces to go along with Metropolitan, Capitol, and Park Police) per square foot than any place in the country.

My feckless governor - Larry Hogan (Rino, MD) - couldn't wait to send the MD ANG into the Distrct to kow-tow for the Dems. He better not be contributing to the 5K human sandbag force the media is talking about this morning. If he is extending their deployment, he needs to send them into Baltimore, after they've had a chance to train up in Afghanistan. What a shit show.

  9. The troops and fences were only there for psychological warfare purposes to try and reinforce the uniparty’s stance that all Conservatives are insurrectionists, traitors, and terrorists. DC establishment is trying to instill fear into those that seek truth and freedom.

  10. I’m glad they’re treating the Guardsmen like shit. It’s a big eye-opener for a lot of those guys as to what their masters really think of them-and their families, friends, and complete strangers are seeing it as well.
