Helping you figure out what not to buy

NORTHERN VIRGINIA & MARYLAND (WDVM) — Giant Food is launching a new initiative to highlight minority-owned business providers in their stores.

Over 3,000 products in Giant stores will feature updated shelf labels. There are over 218 businesses in Giant’s vendor partnerships.

The labels represent businesses that are Women, Black, Asian-Indian, Hispanic, LGBT, Asian-Pacific, or Veteran owned. The program is part of the store’s efforts to promote diversity.

  1. I spend my hard earned money on quality, not diversity....

  2. Does this mean I can still by Spanish Rise, Bok Choy, Tater Salad and Grits in the same store?

  4. This nonsense is long overdue for some serious backlash. Hope it gets some, as your title suggests.

  5. I sure am glad all that racial, and other stuff, disappeared after Johnson created the "Great Society". The last seventy years (especially the last ten) have been hallmarks in the creation of a society that doesn't judge by anything but character.

  6. The most important factor in Giant stores is "EBT accepted here". Those people don't read labels let alone care what's on them.

  7. Like the first comment: I buy what I want, regardless of who made it, except Commies

  8. Makes little difference to me, I will be denied entry either way - no vax (app) for me and mine. I get denied 90% of the time now - - no mask. I get what I need on line. No Amazoon, local as possible. Small business people - build your websites, better from us than box stores.

  10. I had used Uncle Ben's and Aunt Jemima's products for years, until they told me I couldn't. I have even bought food by Chef Boyardee.

  14. No, not that. Remember, Biden is going to jail, Trump will be in control for awhile longer. Not buying the misfits shit will eventually get the misfits tossed off the shelves. Shelv space is expensive. The stuff doesn't sell, it gets deleted

  15. I read labels and I look to see where shit is made or packaged. Have you ever asked a butcher where their shrimp comes from? I do not eat shrimp from Asia therefore I rarely eat shrimp. Hard to find it from elsewhere at least in my area.
