Taking Federalism Seriously
Federalism is like a diet. Both the Left and Right try to stick to it, but each abandons it when its craving for the policy equivalent of fries and a shake grows too strong. The Left, which normally looks to the national government for policy solutions, cheerfully applauds state efforts to deal with the least local of all environmental problems: climate change. Last year, President Trump threatened to use the military to quell looting and overrule the decisions of state governors regarding COVID regulations. But if one really wants to fit into that prom dress or make weight for the wrestling match, one needs to stick to the diet, even when it means leaving tasty policies you crave on the table.

Yes both sides of that coin are good at trying but seldom succeed. To date the total is too many trillions to count or ever repay. What they have been over successful is slowly trading our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness in to safety issues that needed to be limited for their own good by elected representatives in violation of their oath of office. In short they are the ones that are not who we the people are as a nation, as a civil and moral society and they know it all the way to their little black hearts. It is not a question of if they will lose control but when and how.
ReplyDeleteTo be fair, using troops to patrol riot-devastated cities or otherwise enforce federal law has a long history. Little Rock? Detroit?
ReplyDeleteAnd Trump may have threatened, but he didn't do it. The only federal presence in those recent urban riots was to protect federal buildings.
First the Democrats, the liberals, and the socialists have to be destroy. They is no point in handicapping how to accomplished that mission. We will never win as conservative because the message "can you achieved only be being independent, take risks and it is your job to take care of yourself and you love one" will never beat the other side message " vote for us and we will provide you everything for free and enslaved those you don't like." We must achieve power at any cost, exterminate all the treat to the republic, hold a new convention to amend the constitution to ensure a conservative Federal republic - the federal government must to strip of the power to borrow, end all retirement program for elected officials, end all immunity of elected official for the crime of treason against their states. Until the Lefts are exterminated, nothing matter.
