NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WJHL) — A bill that would allow Tennesseans to carry a handgun without a carry permit has cleared another hurdle in the General Assembly.
House Bill 786 by Rep. William Lamberth (R-Portland) would change state law so that a person 21 years or older would be allowed to carry as long as they are lawfully in possession of a gun and are in a place where they have a right to be.
Nope. This is what they're calling'the Governor's bill' and it's not truly Constitutional Carry. HB18 IS true Constitutional Carry, but the Republican SUPER-MAJORITY knows there are way too many RINOs in the herd for it to be passed. These useless mouth-breathers have been quibbling about this for almost 20 years now. Curtis Johnson is one of the absolute worst of these. It's way past time to mount RINO heads as trophies. Figuratively speaking of course, Feebs.

It won't change anything for me. I carry a Colt Defender or my Officer's Model now, and I really don't give a shit if it's showing or not. That's not an issue in the winter, but try covering a shorty 1911 with a t-shirt in the summer.
I carry a 5" 1911 year round. Shorts and t-shirt in the summer, just have to have the right holster. 1911's are so slim, they're easier to conceal than the thicker pistols, barrel length doesn't really factor in for IWB, although it's probably more comfortable, LOL.
I never have been able to carry IWB, it's just too uncomfortable to me. I use OWB holsters that really hug for strong side carry, but if I want to be completely concealed I use an OWB holster over my right hip pocket with a loose shirt.
I have my GA carry permit and a out-of-state FL carry permit. Between the two I have all but about 10 states covered. I think it is bullshit. A carry license should be like a drivers license where it works everywhere.
On another note. My 9mm 1911 Government model that just started throwing brass to my face when it would feed. Lots of feed issues where I have shot it for the past 5 years with only one or two feed failures and that was due to bad ammo. I ordered a new spring kit and got it in today. All I have ever done is a field strip for cleaning on this 1911. I tore it down to the frame. The extractor was a solid carbon tube and the firing pin and spring was a gunked up mass. Everything came apart like expected except I has 2 extra parts. It has been 45 years since my dad taught me how to strip and clean a 1911. It has also been 45 years since I have had a 1911 to the frame.
YouTube rescued me. My Government model is a series 80 and Dad taught me the old 70 series. Totally clean and with new springs I will be hitting the range Thursday. My guestimate is that this 1911 has bout 30K rounds through it. It has been the best "out-of-the-box" pistol I have ever had. My only complaint is the fiber optic sights. They will fail every 7k rounds. I just replaced the fiber again. I am thinking about a replacement slide with a RMR cut and a Red Dot some time in the future. That is, unless I trade in this one for a stainless model.
Yeah, there's those 2 parts (3 really of you count the spring) that makes it an 80. I think Brownells sells a shim that you can use as a replacement to convert it from an 80 to a 70. I did that with my Officer's Model. It improved the trigger a little, but not as much as I hoped.
They still don't get it. The government has no AUTHORITY to create laws about firearm ownership, transfer, or use. What the fuck is this "person 21 years or older would be allowed"?!? Bitch, you don't get to "allow" or "disallow". Just pass a bill that says "We're just passing this to remind ourselves that any free man or woman has the right to own a gun, and any agent of our government that attempts to deprive them of that right deserves to be hanged by a lamppost in the town square."

ReplyDeleteI have been loving constitutional carry here in Kentucky since I moved here. I also enjoy how TN drivers see my plate and give me a wide berth
ReplyDeleteLOL, yeah. Keep thinking that CC is the reason.
DeleteHAHAHAHAHA!!!
DeleteBrock over at Free North Carolina has some good information on this bill. Its a toxic bill. Its not all what you think.
ReplyDeleteNo shit, PASS THE DAMNED THING ALREADY! I'm gonna retire my little pocket piece and start packing my Springfield 1911.

DeleteUse the old mechanics code. "If in doubt leave it out"
ReplyDeleteWould "removing a safety device" be an issue if you were ever in court defending a self-defence shooting?
ReplyDeleteNot that it should, but over-zealous prosecutors do exist.
