Sons of Confederate Veterans sue NCDOT for removing battle flag from license plates

The N.C. Sons of Confederate Veterans is suing the state Department of Transportation over its decision to stop issuing or renewing license plates bearing the Confederate battle flag.

The Confederate organization says the move discriminates against its members who pay for a specialty license plate bearing the group’s logo, which includes an image of the red banner with crossed blue stripes flecked with stars.

  2. Just stop giving the state the extra funds to get those vanity plates. Put a quality sticker on your rear glass and starve the state of those funds

  3. How are US license plates made? In the UK they are a kind of sandwich with clear perspex covering vinyl lettering over a reflective backing. Motoring accessory shops have a little jig for making them up. This means that you can add any kind of logo that you fancy. As long as the actual registration number is of the correct size and spacing it will be legal.

    1. The individual states makes them up, sometimes using prison labor shops. Then the PC asswipes try to determine what we can and cannot say or themes on the plate. The state actually owns the plate on your car/truck, you just rent it

  4. I guess there are still some comrades out there who don't understand the concept of Year Zero. May their stay in the re-education camps be fun and informative!

That's why you have "Certificate" of Title and not Title
