Will your driver’s license fly?

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - On Oct. 1, 2021, federal enforcement of the REAL ID Act is scheduled to begin.

One of the most important changes will occur at airports, where an ordinary driver’s license or identification card for persons 18 and older will no longer be accepted for boarding a U.S. commercial flight. It also will not be accepted for entry to restricted federal installations, such as military bases, nuclear plants and the White House.

  1. "It also will not be accepted for entry to restricted federal installations, such as military bases" ... unless you're an illegal alien, then it three hots and a cot in a tent and they're erecting more tents every day. But, they won't tell CONgress critters or U.S.; Senators how many illegals are on base.

    1. I'm thinking of California's "Give every illegal a driver's license because it makes them safer driver's" policy.
I had to provide proof of U.S. citizenship to RENEW my Concealed Carry Permit, so fuck them.

  2. The reason some states driver's licenses will not be accepted is only because those states refuse to record whether or not the person is a US citizen.

  3. How long before some misguided genius decides that it would be a grand idea to create database of vaccinated individuals and then tie that to the bar-coding on Real-ID driver's licenses?

  4. But, but, but requiring an ID to vote is racist!

  5. This is the last piece to pull all of are records togather with the hepa records. They need to know everything about us almost like we are slaves that are about to be sold.

  6. So, not just a photo id, but a fancy trackable photo id to do a lot of things. But to vote? Nope.

  7. When not driving and cops ask for ID give them your passport or passport card. They have no F-in clue what to do with it. Do not give them your drivers permit, ID is all they are require, not all the stuff on your permit. Always Always never talk to cops, Avoid all contact with them, they mean you no good!!!

  8. Which is why we just got the standard license at renewal. Fuck em all. If I never fly again it'll be too soon.

  9. Real I.D. is sort of a fast track for buying ammo in Ca. For what it's worth the overworked cashiers tend to appreciate it.

  10. Much ado about nothing. When I moved to TN 9 years ago, I had to give them the exact set of documents that I needed to get the real ID when I renewed my license last year. Literally, the exact same set of documents. Nobody raised a stink then.

    1. For my Tennessee license 6 years ago, I had to provide my DL from California, a birth certificate and 2 pieces of mail proving my TN residence.

  11. I'm curious about other restrictions on a non-gold star DL.
Will private pilots without such ID be restricted?
Saudis who want to attend flight training, for instance?
