"Bitch, where my chalupa at?"

  2. When we first moved to town, we did not have a Taco bell. There were a couple of mexican restaurants in town. A year or two later, there was a buzz of local excitement because of a reportedly close arrival of a Taco Bell. This was highly anticipated and hailed as a singular accomplishment.

Sure enough, a storefront store opened. Within a year, they upgraded to a full blown free standing edifice just a short distance from the original storefront. Never been a fan myself.

    1. Yup, I remember the one in the Tractor Supply complex before they put up a building of their own.
I haven't been to a Taco Bell in probably 15-20 years or more.

What got me was in Modesto, there was a line of taco trucks on 8th Street, yet the Taco Bell 100 yards away did a booming business. I never could understand that.

    2. And chances are that for the same amount of $$$ you'd get twice the amount of food at the taco rigs that you would at the corporate Mex place.

    3. I too liked going to the Taco trucks, better food even if ya got a mystery meat truck... Back when I was younger and had a cast iron stomach they had hotter hot sauce then Taco Hell and if ya knew the owner he had a special burn your undershorts hot sauce.

  4. In my experience, Taco Bell's vary widely in quality.
There's one in Plainview, TX that is consistently good, believe it or not.

  7. Haven't been there in years. Their meat is the greasiest of all fast food mexican joints.
