Re: Up north cooking... you've obviously never been to a Polish church bazaar, or had a pastie or Welsh cookies. Beats this chicken-fried & nasty old greens shit to death.
I'm an old redneck, and I like playing with recipes. Never ate curry, for instance, until I made it last year. I rednecked it up once I found I liked it. Try curry over cornbread instead of over rice. It'll change your life. After that you start adding artichoke hearts, steamed broccoli & cauliflower, & shit like that. --Tennessee Budd
My wife learned the hard way on #1, first time to her landlord, 2nd time to one of our customers, 3rd time to a vendor. Had to tell her the 3 strikes were up and if it happened again, she loses her phone privileges.

ReplyDeleteMan, dunno what to say.
ReplyDeleteI'm up north. I fry my chicken in lard, like my greens, and got a way of dicing polish sausage into the greens for a little umpf.
Dad was European, Mom from Tn. You wouldn't believe the shit we came up with when I was a Kid! I just wish ingredients were better these days. =/
I'll just go with home cookin'. =)
