First, as to the individual he mentions in the video who questioned his honor. My first impression was “What sort of prick would do that?” It was answered in the video. Lt. Col. Scheller was very respectful, but it appears that it’s some staff officer still bitching about race relations.

I don't know how he expects to change things from outside the system. He had a fairly high rank, access to a shitload of weaponry and probably a bunch of men under him that were loyal, so.....he just quits? If I follow him (FB, Twitter??), how will that help?
ReplyDeleteHe's an intelligent man of honor. He didn't think it appropriate to start shooting commies, assholes and idiots yet. He still believes in the system. Even intelligent folks are hard pressed by normalcy bias, most people are. Like EVERYONE that thinks we're voting our way out of this.

I can TOTALLY agree with AND identify with LTC Scheller on the issues he spoke about. What is INTOLERABLE is that of all people, a field grade officer & Battalion Commander in full uniform goes onto FAKEBOOK social sewage media and vents his political opinions and disagreements. This is taught in basic training, OBC basic, the various NCO academies, and in the Warrant Officer Corp that it is forbiden to take part in political activity in uniform & in some instances anytime. Then Scheller after shooting himself in the foot "ventures" even further with his folly, thus preverbially shooting himself in the head and releases yet another video on Linked In for Pete sakes!!!! You DO NOT want a military that is able to participate in political rhetoric or events unless they are ceremonial/traditional & ordered by the Commander In Chief (that office is currently vacant). LTC Scheller confuses honor with ego. I feel sorry for this man's wife and family as will be bearing the brunt of his hubristic & egotistical melt down. During my military career spanning 20+ years, I can say that I experienced similar if not the same thoughts & anger about similar issues but I would take it up with the commander behind a closed door adhering to respectful and recognized military protocol and common sense. The parade of weakness, incompetence, immorality, national division the Untied States has been putting on for the world WILL have serious consequences of the magnitude & type America faced on December 7th, 1941. We were NOT prepared for it then and we CERTAINLY are FAR from prepared now.

The whole shitshow is designed to re-engineer support for further action in Afghanistan, a way to re-envigorate flagging public support for the 20 years war (how can America EVER hold its head up on the military world stage without a 100 year war or two of its own to be "proud" of).

and as for to, at last count 89 billion dollars in equipment, all of that is going to have to be replaced, everything from jocks and socks to helmets and night vision gear to tanks and choppers, the military industrial complex and their shareholders will be rubbing their hands in glee.
Get ready for the "we have to go in and get our boys out/revenge for some atrocity, or because minerals "we" need for "our" electric car batteries or countering China or some lame shit", campaign, l already have money on 30K boots on the ground by November.
and just for the record, uncle Sammy funded the Taliban as far back as 1975 when the usa decided it couldn't tolerate a successful socialist state under its watch and set about turning Afghanistan, (the Paris of the middle east), into what it is now, because they funded the, as usual, most evil pieces of shit they could find, to do their dirty work.
