Looks like the free ride is over

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Saturday, the federal eviction moratorium ended, despite the COVID-19 Delta variant spreading throughout the country.

The temporary halt on evictions began last September and kept getting extended until Saturday.

In the video, they recommend that if you can't pay your rent then you should communicate with your landlord to avoid eviction.
Shit, if you're in danger of being evicted, you should've already been talking with your landlord. If I had rentals, the first ones I'd be evicting are the ones that haven't been in contact with me trying to make arrangements whether it was partial payments or working it off or whatever.

  1. Pretty sure it's just been extended to October through some emergency order. Screw the landlords right? They don't have a right to make a living while the leech class continues to leech. Note to society, there's a butt load of jobs available out there right now. Get on it.

  2. Pisses me off this free ride shit. My favorite BBQ had to shut it's doors. They couldn't find any help. I know it's happening all over the USA. Sitting on their asses, slaves of the fuckin government and they think they are really being smart. Lazy ass pieces a shit.

  3. I heard on this morning's news the commie CDC assholes just issued another eviction-moratorium worded slightly different because the Supreme Court ruled the first mandate was not legit and they don't have the power to issue economic moratoriums. It’s another obsessed liberal "we gonna do what we want to do and fuck the law". Every one of these CDC assholes should be charged with treason and given the "ultimate" penalty.

  4. Too many people equate eviction moratorium with "I don't have to pay rent". That money got spent on nails, weaves, and extensions.

    1. Local news interviewed a delinquent rental occupant about getting evicted. Her response, sitting in a fairly new car with her hair and nails freshly tended to was, " This is so unfair, we are in a world wide epidemic emergency and people will be living in the streets ". At no time did the reporter ask if she had any responsibility to her landlord who she had been not paying rent to for over a year and half. Nor was the job market or how she could afford a stylist and manicure if she was broke. I'm so glad I got away from all that bullshit.

  6. this is all about destroying the middle class. pure cloward-piven. landlords still have bills to pay and mortgage payments - what about their rights? deadbeat renters you cant evict are a parasite.

cnc has no authority here to insist some smirking deadbeat can live, untouchable, for 6 months to a year without paying rent.

I would love to know how many rent payments were instead spent on Xbox, weed, new tvs, or sneakers?

  7. There's an immigrant from India who's been living, actually he's squatting, in a house somewhere on Long Island for 15+ years and the courts won't have him evicted.

Yet another reason to never be a landlord.

  8. "Looks like the free ride is over" It ain't over until the fat lady sings.

The fat lady, in this case, is going to be the banks that fail over 18 the next months because people are not and have not been paying mortgages. With arrears now coming due and not many able to pay, or renegotiate, it's going to be a crisis worse than one created in 2007-2009. The real downside is that banks are going to become large land/housing owners to the detriment of poor and middle class people.

You think the homeless crisis is big now? Wait 18 months. It'll make the dust bowl migration look like a picnic.

    1. You say that like it wasn't the plan from the beginning. Collapse the banks, crash the stock market, nationalize pensions, confiscate 401Ks (proposed in 2008), and destroy the dollar. If the dollar has no value, everyone has nothing, everyone is equal.

  9. People have always paid their rent while collecting unemployment in the past.
Why should it be any different now, especially with the enhanced benefits?
