A California police officer accidentally killed a bystander sitting in a car while shooting at a suspect over the weekend, authorities said.
The shooting occurred at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday in the small coastal city of Guadalupe, the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Sunday.
No problem..... he'll just wave the banner of "qualified immunity", get a paid vacation and be sent right back out to menace society again. The taxpayers will get soaked for a fat settlement and NOTHING WILL CHANGE.
"...accidentally..." -- not. Negligent -- probably. . In the early-1970s, I worked with California Bureau Of Narcotics Enforcement. On a joint-task with Sacramento Sheriff deputies, I witnessed two (full-auto) M-16s (machine-guns) unload on a suspected molester in flip-flops and swim-suit as she walked across an apartment parking-lot. Each of the SSD magazines were loaded to twenty-eight cartridges "...in case of jams...". . These two highly-trained perfessionerals scored seven hits on an unarmed non-violent suspect. Seven hits out of fifty-six rounds fired. . The incompetence of LawEnforcementOfficials is under-reported by a thousand percent.
“result in the death of an unarmed civilian.” You mean Citizen! Unless you are wearing your military uniform and are on duty, you may not refer to we the people as civilians. You do not get to redefine words to puff up your already swollen, arrogant heads. Cops are nowhere near what our military are. And stop calling yourselves heroes.
