I remember the first time I saw one. I thought it looked like a shark. Someone yelled, It's a Cobra! One night on an ambush not far from Marble Mt. two of them opened up and dumped about everything they had about a click from me. Holy Shit! Zip bang, they were there and then they were gone. Scared the liven bejesus outta us.
East Hampton, CT VFW approached the gubment, maybe 20 years ago, thought a Huey would look pretty cool hanging above the front door...no Hueys available, but would they like a Cobra? Hell yeah! It arrived on a flatbed, and I got my son and me in pilot and gunner seats...they properly restored it and it now hangs, proudly...ironically, it faces the entrance, across the street and up the hill of the East Hampton High School, so those fuckers better not try and skip class!
