First 'refugees', now soldiers...

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Fourteen Mexican soldiers were detained early Saturday morning for several hours by U.S. border agents after they crossed into El Paso, Texas, from Mexico's Ciudad Juarez, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP)said.

"Just after midnight today CBP officers working at the Bridge of the America's international crossing in El Paso noted two Mexican military vehicles crossing the boundary and entering the U.S.," the CBP told Reuters in an emailed statement.

  1. That was no mistake. That was a probing patrol, probably at the behest of the cartel. Next time it'll be somewhere other than a manned crossing, if it's not happening already

  2. The news never reports it, but Mexican military runs point a lot. They establish a 'beach head' for moving drugs across the river in unpopulated areas.

They use HK's in 308, and it out ranges the AR-15's our guys carry. One BP truck was sieved in New Mexico, when a Mexican patrol opened fire on it. That was several years ago, and about 12 miles inside the US.

Several years ago, DPS was chasing a truck full of drugs. The driver reversed, went back to the Rio Grande, and there was a military presence on our side of the river. The DPS trooper stopped and watched as the truck got stuck in the river, the military offloaded the drugs then set fire to the truck. They moved back across the river and that was that.

There is so much money around and an expectation of corruption that the border is just a toll booth for the cartels. We don't have the guts to do what is needed to make that go away. So, just like China in the late 1800's, our 'gov' allows the people to dope up up and away, while they get rich and do what they want.

    I don't expect a Boxer Rebellion...
