Volksrob, I'm guessing you're from Australia. Some places in the U.S. have cat problems but the problems tend to be local. Having had cats most of my life I've seen both the benefit and cost of cats. One of my cats destroyed the song bird population of a neighborhood I once lived in, I'm sure he had some help but he was an inveterate hunter. In my current neighborhood we have had an explosion of rabbits laying waste to vegetable and flower gardens- there are few if any outdoor cats.
