Man Busted For Sign Language Death Threat

OCTOBER 6--A man jailed for allegedly threatening the life of a woman transmitted the menacing message in sign language via a video text, Florida police say.

Robert Sowle, 35, was arrested Monday evening on a felony charge and booked into the Pinellas County jail. Locked up on $10,000 bond, he is scheduled for a court appearance this afternoon.

  1. Worked as a guard for a while. There was one inmate who was deaf - he totally lost it when his stripper mom got his older sister into the same line of work & killed both of them. I was escorting him back from sick call when another guard flashed the shorthand sign for 'I love you'. Later asked the guard what he was doing, and he said girls were always flashing that sign at him in bars so he thought it meant something like 'you are crazy'.

  2. Good thing he didn't flip her the bird. He'd be up on threatening her with sexual assault.
