Media Shakes AR Myths in Rare Reports

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- The media is learning, perhaps by pure accident, that the AR-15 isn’t the monster they’ve portrayed it to be. That’s a lesson that the rest of America learned long ago.

ABC News has been running a series of reports focused on firearms and criminal violence. Two of those reports tell the truth of the Modern Sporting Rifle (MSRs), or AR-15 style rifle, and the real culprit. ABC News reported it was criminally-obtained handguns that are used in most murders.

  1. Media lying about firearms is not news, media forced to tell the truth about firearms is a whole different story

  2. The thing that is amazing to me, is that the price of an entry level AR 15, from PSA, is still within the ability of an average working person to buy. I just placed a complete blem upper and lower into an order, with the lower including the receiver and the upper including the BCG and CH plus the rear mbus sight.
The grand total price? 435.98$ Now I understand that this is barely getting you into the game, but much like the old Hipoint 9mm pistols, most likely it is going to shoot longer than the person who buys it. If the owner likes the platform, they will sell it for 400$, or even a bit more, and buy a much nicer gun, later when they know what they actually want, and need for the type of shooting they actually do.
For myself, at this point in my life, I am not in a place that makes me want to rush out and pick up an AR 15. My son has both an AR and an AK, and I have shot both, and to be honest, I do like the AR 15 better. It is just a better design, that is more accurate, which is saying a lot, from a person like me, who is just an average shot on a very good day. I have never been a good rifle shot, I am a much better pistol shot. So if a rifle can make me look good, I have to say that the gun is exceptional. and the AR 15 is exceptional. And of course, I like it just the same as everyone else, due to how it handles and is so easy to shoot.
The thing is, I don't have a real need for another rifle at this point, and being on a fixed income, I have to pay attention to what I spend my money on, and if I decided that I needed an AR, I of course would find a way to get the money for it. I would just have to take money from something else, that I don't like to do . So I only buy things like that if they are an actual need, and not just a want.

    1. I just got that $299 blem upper midlength with the magpul stuff on it. I priced all components separately and it would cost $100 more and not be assembled.

  3. The Eff Bee Eye publishes gun crime stats every year which clearly state that the vast majority of gun crime is committed with handguns. Apparently the "journalists" in the media, who most likely studied ENGLISH as part of their "journalism" courses, still don't know how to read it.

  4. If ABC News is pointing out that it is criminally-obtained handguns that are used in most murders, it means the communists are going to start pushing for nationwide handgun bans.
