    The Dutch who named their home Rottnest (Rat's Nest in Dutch) must have been dour people - how else to explain the name when the animals always seem to be smiling?

      Remember, it's Australia. That creature is probably extremely vicious. Known to eviscerate humans in less than 30 seconds. Think Monty Python rabbits.

    Yes. Rottnest Island is about 20 km (12 miles) west of the port of Fremantle in Western Australia.
