    1. And class and room. That would be three wide seating today.

  3. Note the suits, ties on the men and the modest dress on the lady. That was the norm back in the 1950s when my dad worked for Pan Am. Fast forward 70 years and now the average passenger looks and acts more like a feral, unwashed, crack addicted creature from under an LA overpass tent city. It's just another indicator of a society about to self-destruct.

  4. And notice the normal dresscode. When they deregulated the industry they set up air travel to capture the worst of the greyhound class. Air travel has sucked for 40+ years.

    1. Well speaking as a person that traveled often for both pleasure and work I am glad that the coat and tie crowd moved on to other things. As a 63 y/o I can proudly state I have owned 1 coat and tie in my life and have not needed one for over 50 years so.....

    2. So you're saying you gave them up at the ripe old age of 12 or so?

      Got it...

FWIW- Those of us younger than you, actually preferred the civilization that was so blithely tossed aside; I'd love a flight, and a society, with a dress code.

Yes, after some religious crap I was forced to do by my parents.
So as a younger than me you obviously have no idea what really happened, you perceive them by looking at posed pictures and old movies.
Also remember that travel by plane, train and ship was very expensive in those days and so only certain people could afford to participate in those activities.
To think that the average joe/Jane was on a plane dressed up for the day's travel shows you're not as informed as you think.

    1. Dress codes are human nature. You dress more professional and are perceived as more professional by others. Societal expectation you perceive then tends to sway behavior to fit in that model.

Just human nature at work. People fitting into the group in anexpected role. Nothing political about it.

  6. I miss the days when we balanced freedom with decency; when our currency was also made of silver and gold too.

  7. Not in favor of ridiculous dress codes like collared shirts to get into some shithole with an exaggerated sense of what they are. Also not a fan of sagging baggy shorts and pants with the underwear up around their pits while they grab their crotch in an effort to hold their drawers up. Both are obnoxious.

  8. You call Holsten a beer?

It is the German version of Bud.

It is urine diluted with alcohol. Eek.
