Just when he thought his day couldn't get any worse
HOUSTON - A Sonic-fast food employee is lucky to be alive after authorities say his car explode Friday night in west Houston as he was getting ready to leave work.
Word. Given the shit state of American education at present we have to be pleased that it didn't say, "after authorities say he car explode Friday night".
As long as the valve is shut, and the cap is screwed on, it should be okay. The man should have been able to smell the acetylene as soon as he opened his car door. At that point, I would have not got in the car, but left the door open to air out. If the trunk had a purely mechanical opening system, I would have opened the trunk also.
The acetylene cylinder in the trunk makes him responsible for the damage to the surrounding area and all other cars and buildings damaged. If I were his insurance agent I would deny any claims.
Only a fool would put an acetylene tank in a trunk. Only a complete idiot would come to work with it still in the car instead of unloading it before coming to work. Acetylene can be quite unstable if improperly handled.
And yes, most of these so called reporters couldn't pass my jr. high school English class, much less my high school journalism class.
"after authorities say his car explode Friday night"? Do these people not have editors? ExplodED!

DeleteEnglish is likely a second language for the writer and editor. Ebonics being the first.
DeleteYeah, but today’s “editors” are deficient in grammar, spelling and diction.
DeleteA little Bondo and some paint, and it’ll be as good as new!
ReplyDeleteThat'll buff right out. Nemo
ReplyDeleteThank Goodness the airbag deployed!
ReplyDeleteIt'll buff out
ReplyDeleteCan't remember the last time I was tempted to put an acetylene cylinder in the trunk. Then again, I don't work at Sonic.

DeleteThere are no editors or proofreaders these days, just spell check. And you see how well that works.

ReplyDeleteI guess that was a Sonic boom. Ok, I'm leaving.
