Media Rip Gun Owner Privacy for ‘Hampering Gun Violence Studies’

U.S.A. –-(AmmoLand.com)- The Los Angeles Times is reporting that lawsuits filed by the National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foundation and “other gun rights groups” challenging California’s sharing of admittedly “detailed information on gun owners” with researchers is hampering so-called “gun violence studies.”

Or is it the L.A. Times?

  1. When the government publishes the address of every Honda Accord and Toyota Camry owner, I'll be less apt to get angry. I mean, that's fair. Accords and Camry's are involved in more accidents involving hospitalization than any other cars. We have a right to know who is out there with such deadly weapons.

  2. Wasn't there something in the Roe vs Wade about the right to privacy? Guess that does not extend to people exercising an enumerated Right.

  4. Let's look at major financial crimes in the USA and publish details about each perpetrator. If they have a Wikipedia entry the "Early Life" section would be a good start. (The Categories section at the end of each entry is also your friend.)

When the press is ready to do that, then I'll reconsider my position on making public details about gun owners.
