A teenage driver was watching “Stranger Things” on her phone when her car drifted into the oncoming lane and collided with a semi-truck, according to Minnesota police who report that the teen escaped with minor injuries in the rollover crash.
With as many people I see on their phones whether talking, texting or reading while driving I'm amazed more wrecks don't happen and more people are killed.
I’m old rescue/EMS and have picked up those broken bodies. My daughter never texted or drank when learning to drive. I told her she was driving a potentially deadly weapon and if she ever killed some while drinking and driving or texting and driving, there wouldn’t be a trial, because she would disappear…..forever. She knew I’d do it too. Actions have consequences and IMO, we don’t teach the consequences enough.
20 years later, she’s never even been in a fender-bender, one of the safest drivers I know, and we still talk.

ReplyDeleteI wish auto makers would equip vehicles with cell phone jammers. Too many drivers can't put down their phones. Especially the women.

ReplyDeleteThat girl should never be allowed to drive again, ever! Hope the truck driver is ok.
