Shit, that's almost 3 tanks of gas!

WILDWOOD, N.J. - No metal detector needed in this treasure hunt! One man just stumbled upon piles and piles of cash hidden beneath his Wildwood home.

    1. also described as "pristine condition" but clearly looks filthy. Journalism is a joke.

  2. The shame of it all is:
When the money was hidden it had some worth.
It lost over 90 percent of its value since it was buried.
Plus, why on earth would anyone tell?

    1. It's only $2K so not much tax in that, not even enough to pay an IRS agent's time to pursue it. Those grimy bills have no collector value, they're only worth face. And > 50% of Americans don't pay Fed tax anyway so +/- $2K probably wouldn't matter to his bottom line. But yes, no reason to blab to any media about it. I'd get a metal detector and search the property.

  6. Those bills probably have numismatic value far in excess of the face value.

    1. Probably so but not much. If those had been 2,000 one dollar gold coins instead, that'd be about 4 million dollars.

    2. Actually I goofed. If they'd of been $2,000 in $20 gold coins that'd be a minimum of $200,000 just for the gold. The numismatic value would be way beyond that.

  7. If I found that the only ones who would know would be currency collectors, and then only 1 or 2 bills at a time.

  8. Piffle. That's nothing. I was cleaning out my garage the other day and I discovered three eight foot 2 X 4's and a sheet of half inch plywood.

I'm thinking about retiring and living off the interest.
