Crispy Fried Catfish

I’ve cooked a lot of catfish and when it’s a good clean fish with a golden crisp crust- then there’s nothing better! In this video we’re showing y’all tips on how to buy a good white catfish along with how to create a crispy crust that will stick to that fish. Recipes and what we used in this video below…

  1. Kenny, I love all of his videos. He supports veterans and a Christian. Good Patriot. Hope all is well. Patrick

  2. The fish Cowboy Kent cooks up looks excellent. I use a similar method. BBQ guru Rodney Scott also makes a stupid-good catfish.

    Best regards,

  3. Timely video- reminds me I haven't fried up any catfishes lately.
    I need to rectify that.

  5. I don't watch a ton of cooking videos, but I like him. Great presentation, and a darn good man. He's up the road a ways from me.

  6. Kent Rollins seem like a great guy. He supports some great causes and cooks like nobody's business.
It's just that his voice makes my skin crawl. A failing on my part maybe.

    1. Kent's an Oklahoman (like me) and you might notice that he sounds a lot like Reba McIntyre. They both lay it on really thick. You won't find many Oklahomans that actually sound like that. I've only ever heard that cornpone accent, from Reba and Kent.

As far as fish frys go, Walleye aces Crappie which beats bass and everything else...
If you're buying catfish, you'll find filets and nuggets. Filets are just that and nuggets are the fatty belly meat. But what are you doing buying catfish when you could be catching 'em?

  7. I grew up on a farm in south GA that had a 15 acre pond. A couple times a year my cousin and I would run a trout line for catfish when we were teenagers. I don't need to see a video on frying catfish as it is hard coded in my DNA.

  8. Every piece of catfish I’ve ever tasted reminded me of mud.
Bass, Crappie, Walleye, Northern Pike got catfish beat six ways from Sunday.

    2. Yep. If he had ever had well cooked, fresh Catfish, he wouldn't be saying that. It's the lightest, sweetest, nicest fish out there. Now, Northern Pike is pretty good too, but you have to deal with the Y-bones. It's a pain in the ass.

  9. Most folks I know put their cats in fresh water for a few days, alive, to clean them out.
