  1. #3 When I was in high school and still taking the school bus, we went past an apartment complex in East Hartford called Fountain Village that had a big fountain out front. On a regular basis and hysterical every time they did it, local hooligans would dump soap in the fountain turning it into an absolute mountain of suds.

    1. There was a fountain like that just outside the entrance to the police station in Moscow, Idaho.
I’ve heard that Tide worked best.

    2. Back around 1979, at UC Berkeley, the student paper (The Daily Californian?) had samples of something (shampoo, I think) stuffed into each paper. Since stacks of this paper were left laying around Sproul Plaza, the homeless that loitered and slept on the Plaza dumped lots of the packets of free sample into the fountain there. It was a very sudsy event.

  4. Soap in a fountain is funny, but it really is a Richard Cranium move.

    1. Not funny at all. There was a very nice fountain at the intersection of McHenry and Briggsmore in Modesto CA where I lived, and kids dumped soap in there all the time. It overflowed into those major roads and caused several accidents, causing the City to eventually shut it down. They also got real tired of replacing the pumps that were burned up from the soapy water.

    2. Isn't it McHenry and Briggsmore that's the busiest intersection in California?

    3. Sure seems like it when you're trying to get across Briggsmore.

    4. #3:
I too was thinking what is going to happen when that foam hits the pumps, and they cavitate and burn their seals.

    5. I saw that a few times at McHenry and Briggsmore when I was a kid.

#5 About 40 years ago, I heard about one of the Hetch-Hetchy pipelines springing a leak around Hart Rd. I didn't see it, but someone told me it was shooting up pretty high. Some lady apparently took her kid out to see it after it had been leaking a while. Her kid got his shoes dirty, so she had him take them off so she could stick them into the water and rinse them off. Bye-bye shoes!

    1. Looks more like what happens when you compress a video down WAY too far then turn it into a gif..

I will award a tie to the skater who launched without checking the rail was clear and to the idiot hanging off it knowing somebody was about to grind over his fingers. Both are dumbasses.

  15. Sunnyvale California: funeral home fountain.. crazy people would put the laundry soap in the fountain, it was the hard pressed round soap pieces that would flood the road with bubbles.
