If they can't kill babies, they'll settle for old folks

ODESSA TOWNSHIP, Mich. - A man shot and wounded an 84-year-old Michigan woman who was canvassing door-to-door against a proposed constitutional amendment that would guarantee the right to abortion in the state.

  1. Thankfully while the article says that no charges have been filed, it was an older one, and they did file charges. Richard Harvey was charged Friday on charges of felonious assault and reckless discharge of a firearm causing injury charges.
Michigan has Proposal 3 on the ballot in November. It is rather detailed, and has a lot of vitriol on both sides, and associated TV ads. And the state governor race between the Empress of Lansing, Whitmer and another woman, Tudor Dixon, looks to be nasty, until the end.
Michigan somehow has become an important player in the political wind of the nation. I don't really understand why, when we have seen such a mass exodus of our population because of the dying of manufacturing, especially that of the auto industry in the southeastern part of the state, which is where the main voting block of people still reside.
It is a sad commentary when an old woman can't go door to door and ask people to vote any certain way on a proposal, without worrying about being shot. But it is also an important thing to understand that people of today are not like they were 50 or even 30 years ago. We also must change with the times, not only for our own sake, but for our loved ones and those who might depend on us.
