Holy shit, just how much is her time worth?

HIALEAH, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida woman is suing the Kraft Heinz Company for $5 million, claiming they misled the public about the time it takes to prepare its Velveeta microwavable mac and cheese cups.

Court records show that a West Palm Beach-based law firm filed the lawsuit on behalf of Amanda Ramirez in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Nov. 18.

Ramirez is listed as the main plaintiff for the class-action suit, which alleges Kraft Heinz violated federal law by saying Velveeta Shells & Cheese cups take 3½ minutes to prepare.

  1. It's idiots like this that lead to bags having to be printed with "Do not put over head". If I ever met this woman, I'd berate her mercilessly for her abject stupidity. And feel good about doing it.

  2. I used to say,' we're drowning in stupid.' but that was a long time ago.

  3. In Kraft's defense, it says "Ready in 3 and a half minutes." It doesn't say from WHEN.

  4. As Ron White said, “ya can’t fix stupid”.

    Plus, unfortunately, they breed.

  5. Is the company purposely misleading people? Yep. Does the company believe somebody will complain? Not $5 million lawsuit complaining. Got to get their attention. The plaintiff most likely had a bad work day, and the lying capitalist scum product was the final pissoff.

  6. This story is evidence that we need to pay attention to Shakespear's statement: "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers".(Henry VI)

    1. It ain't the lawyers who caused this nonsense. That's like blaming the gun for doing the shooting.

BTW, Shakespeare's quote actually doesn't mean what you seem to think it means.

  7. She's going for the hush money from the insurance company. The label says 3 and a half minutes "or until pasta is tender". That leaves plenty of wiggle room for the attorneys if this actually goes to court. For those interested, I looked up the label online. There's no way I'm wasting money on that crap.

  8. If there was a judge worthy of the title, this suit would be dismissed with prejudice.

  10. I've got a 2000 watt microwave that will cook that garbage in 1:30. Microwave ovens vary just like the time. Dismissed.

  11. 3 1/2 minutes, IF you know what you are doing. Probably took her that long to read the instructions.

  12. MY BAD! I thought the lady's name was "Velvetta." AND the 3.5 min was the time required hitting the glass pipe BEFORE inhaling.
