Nearly 40% of Americans skipped medical care in 2022 because of cost concerns, poll finds

A growing number of Americans are delaying important medical care because of the high cost of treatment, a new survey shows.

In 2022, 38% of Americans said they or a family member skipped or delayed medical care, amid the highest rate of inflation in more than 40 years, according to an annual health care poll from Gallup.

The jump reflects an increase of 12 percentage points compared to 2021 and marks the highest year-to-year increase in Americans delaying health care, including evaluations, treatments and procedures, since Gallup began conducting the poll in 2001.

    1. We skipped medical care because doctors can't be trusted. If they weren't in on it... they refused to stand up for the truth. My wife and I stood up for the truth and she was fired for it. We sleep well. Asante in Southern Oregon accepted 20 million to push the Vax. They also diagnosed everyone with covid so they could get extra money. Here if you went to the hospital in the last 3 years you died. Fuck doctors!

    2. My first thought too. I have plenty of money, but I'll be dipped if the medical establishment will ever see a dime of it. I will never trust them again. Do yourselves a favor and find a competent, independent, holistic practitioner that didn't take the poison.

  2. And then there's the 40% of Americans that skipped medical care because they no longer trust doctors or the hospitals they work for.
I would be included in that group. Not that I trusted them before the Xi-Fauci-Gates Population Control Vaccine came along.

  3. 2022? How's about 2020, 21 AND 22. Being self employed, I've probably got the shittiest insurance ever created for man. It used to be good, but thanks to Obama care, well, let's just say, I can't afford the decent stuff anymore. Fortunately, I'm only on one Rx and I can get that from my medical supply house for the vet clinic so we're golden there. My statin costs me about $3/month buying it direct. God knows how much they'd rape me if I went to pharmacy and had an insurance plan of some type. I used to defend and brag about American Healthcare. The pandemic has really opened my eyes to how it's been compromised. I no longer think we have the best health care on the planet like I did 20 years ago.

    1. Now, now, now. You are not supposed to call "the affordable care act" Obamacare. First, because it is not affordable; and second, Obama doesn't care.

  4. Yes, maybe Americans ain't using the medical care but the damn illegals are. If you have ever had to visit the ER in the last year, it is a complete joke but it is not funny. My wife was released after having major surgery, came home, and had to turn around to go back to hospital due to complications. It took 8, EIGHT f'n hours to get through the ER and back in the hospital. What a disgrace. I could not even wait with her in the ER since it was extremely crowded with 3rd world people with NON-life threatening injuries that I saw. Completely out of control. These damn illegals need to be deported IMMEDIATELY and then us tax paying CITIZENS could get some decent health care. Hybo

    1. The emergency rooms overflow since most governments (I don't know if it federal, state, or local) have decided that no-one can be turned away from the emergency room. They basically took one of the more expensive medical facilities and turned it into a misused and abused freebie.

  6. I dont trust the doctors any more because of covid and still pushing the death shot. Last week I ordered a 6 panel blood test on line ($100). Blood test is done at same facilities doctors use. Didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I also have obamacare. $16,000 deductible. I consider it catastrophic insurance. To top that off it I basically have to use it in the county I live. I am out of county half the time. Just freakin worthless.

  7. Cost is one part. The fact they were all Covid cheerleaders does not help.

    1. I haven't been to a doctor, in spite of needing to see one due to cancer, but: How can one trust a doctor who starts by requiring that you wear a mask that he should know has no medical value?

  9. It’s come to the point I can’t afford health insurance. My wife is disabled, and is unable to get a job, and SS has denied her since 2006. I barely bring home enough to keep us going. It’s a paycheck to paycheck scenario for the past 4-5 years. So this year I’m opting out of all insurance and will take it as it comes.

Fuck the Republicans, Democrats, and JB.

  10. A doctor is just a fancy name for a dope pusher in a white coat. Or as gran’ma would say; there alright in their own way, they just don’t way very much !!

  11. I haven't had insurance for many years now and, IMHO, it's not needed until people turn 40. Total scam. Sometimes I explain to people it doesn't matter if I have great insurance or no insurance; if I go to the hospital, I'm ruined financially. IIRC, the last time I was in the hospital for legitimate injuries was back in 2010.

I try to avoid doing excessively dangerous stuff that may result in injuries that I can't treat on my own. With resources like Archive.org and the University of Youtube, it's pretty much inexcusable for people not to learn the skills of their own choosing, including medicine. The permission of others is not required to snap up some FREE college textbooks and study them.

Short of essential surgeries, setting bones, blood transfusions, etc, there isn't much a hospital can do that I can't do for myself. Even then, I don't trust my local hospital and would rather chance it going to Houston or Austin where I'll receive competent care; rather than my local place.

  12. Yeah, at the end of last year, one of my doctor's tried to do a little extra Christmas shopping by ordering a surprise procedure at the last minute. I refused - told him my last appointment was at beginning of summer, a standard exam would be more appropriate.

Last year wasn't too bad as far as medical goes, but 2021 - damn, I was raped by doctor fees. Not fun at all, barely had enough in the tank to pay my property taxes due last January. This year, I began saving early and it paid off - had some spare money for the inevitable 'Surprise' expense that should be coming any day now.

surprised at number of hysterectomies among clients
asked about it and was told 'doctor needs a new car, schedule a few surgeries'.
      i was shocked
but i was young and naive

  13. Who in their right mind would trust an American doctor? After what they did during the Covid era, I no longer trust or respect the medical trades.
