So he was expecting a spa and catered meals?

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas - His name is Kyle French, and he's in the Harris County Jail for violating a protective order.

He describes his nearly four months behind bars as "Scary as Hell."

  1. I don't know what he was expecting. But your comment sounds like you are condoning beating people in a county jail. I think your moral compass is way off on this one.

    1. Where did you get that from? I didn't condone shit, I'm just saying it happens and anybody that thinks otherwise doesn't have a clue.
People are gonna get their asses beat in jail - if you're weak people will beat your ass to take advantage of you and if you're strong and tough, there's people that are stronger and tougher than you and will go out of their way to prove it.

    3. There's a difference between inmates beating each other up, and DOC jailors beating people up. Prisons are bad enough without condoning or excusing the people in charge who are breaking the law. We need to condemn and prosecute the people who run these places in our name who can't run it without acting like their own cartel. That's like saying it's ok to have crooked cops. It's not ok to shrug it off and say 'that's just the way it is.'

    4. Jesus, quit twisting my fucking words to suit your agenda. All I said was "So he was expecting a spa and catered meals?" and somehow you've got me condoning it.
But the sad and simple fact of the matter is, that IS just the way it is, right or wrong.
If you're expecting an apology for me captioning it the way I did, you've got a long, long wait in front of you.
Fuck man, go take a Xanax or something.

Well, if the information is about jailers beating a person to death in a low security prison, and someone says to that "oh well, what were you expecting" (I'm paraphrasing, not quoting), I say that is exactly what the word "condone" means. And in fact Anonymous up there is wrong - it does not matter who beat the guy to death - a condoning remark is what it is. The only difference would be that in that latter case I would not even think of mentioning morality, because it'd have nothing to do with the situation. As opposed to the case we have here.

    6. You know, if you would take about 3.5 seconds to check, you'll see that most of my post captions are humorous or sarcastic. How in the hell am I supposed to post anything if I worry about offending somebody?
      Let it go, man.

  2. He should be tied in a chair with his eyes taped open made to watch Midnight Express on a loop if he thinks he's got it tough

  3. Here is a thought : If being in jail is unpleasant , maybe people will try harder to stay out of it.

  4. I would be a lot more sanguine about the jailers administering regular beatings if I had any faith at all in our "justice" system. Knowing that good men get railroaded, and black thugs go free? Yeah, this shit needs to be stopped by any means necessary.

For reference, my brother spent five years in jail for pissing off city hall. The framed him for arson of an abandoned construction project, (that was never going to be finished because it turned out to not be economical when the first phase of the project didn't sell enough of the condos to pay to complete the second phase.) and their rich buddy collected the insurance (instead of continuing to pay on the debt incurred) while my brother rotted in jail, and lost his wife and kid.

They set the damn bail for over 250K, while letting outright murderous muggers go for pennies because they're "poor misunderstood black folk".

Yeah, I'm still a little bitter about it.

  5. If you go to jail you are at the mercy of the jailers. If you behave they can put you in a cell by yourself where you can avoid other inmates. If you are troublesome then you get put in a cell with “Bubba.”
