Thump thump

FOX 2 (WJBK) - A handyman was nearly carjacked at the Warren-Detroit border on Eight Mile - and the suspect was run over.

"All of a sudden he came through here grabbed here, looked and then he tried to reach," said Amier Anweia.

  1. Happy ending, but MAN that is such wretched writing! Detroit, eh? Affirmative Action hires at Fox News, Detroit?

  2. Demetrius certainly looks happy considering he's got two broken legs and is being charged with felony hit and run causing great bodily injury or death.

  3. FTA - "Benson ........ and ..... is expected to survive"

Well that sucks. Now we'll have to pay his hospital bill and prison upkeep. I was hoping for a better resolution.

    1. Prison upkeep? Now there's a talking point I haven't heard in a long time. I'll remind you that a hell of a lot of prisons are privately run and for profit, and it's a huge industry.

  5. Elmo, I'm pretty sure the happy Demetrius photo was from an earlier (of numerous) bookings. Gonna be a bitch jacking rides from crutches or a wheelchair.

  6. Because he was injured after he had committed one felony (hit and run resulting in death), and while attempting to commit yet another felony (carjacking), he should not be allowed to ever collect Social Security Disability, or any other federal benefits. The same should apply to benefits from the state of Michigan. But, we all know that ain't gonna happen.

    1. I'm guessing the taxpayers are going to have to provide him with a specially equipped van to allow him to drive with mis-shapen legs, after he finishes his term of state-sponsored rehab in prison health facilities. He's not going to lose his license just because he killed someone while driving under the influence. That would be cruel.
