I think that's a machine for getting through the fields to access crawfish traps in southeast TX or LA. Lots of gators share the same habitat as the crawfish.
That is a paddlewheel on the back of a crawfish boat. About halfway through, you can see a trap by the alligator, made out of chicken wire. Most likely, its in a rice field, hence only a foot or so of water.
Dog been there before
ReplyDeleteSo what is that machine in #1, and what is the operator trying to do with it? (Other than piss off the local fauna...)
ReplyDeleteKeeping the channel clear of local fauna? I honestly don't know.
DeletePretty sure that is a crawfish boat. That wheel pushes it through the shallow channel and enables the operator to drive up on land.
DeleteI think he’s clearing the canal of local flora…

That's how you get around in a rice field, crawfish pond. I go down to Louisiana & hunt waterfowl & that how they take us to the blinds.
DeleteWeed control?

Looks like some sort of paddle-wheel drive for very shallow water.
